A new Clive police officer is bringing more than a badge to the job - he is bringing a personal mission to connect with a growing Burmese community in central Iowa.Officer Aung Thant, who joined the Clive Police Department in March, is settling into his role in the patrol division after previously working in other parts of the Des Moines metro. In his first month on the job, Thant said he is focused on building trust with the community."I really want to be engaging with the community.

For the past century, Drake Stadium has been more than a competition site. It has become a destination where world-class athletes and Iowa standouts have all chased history. At the center of that legacy is the Blue Oval, the signature track surface that has become synonymous with the Drake Relays. “Everybody in my family knows the last week of April is, you know you better not die or get married because I’m not going to be there,” laughed Mike Jay, the longtime voice of the Drake Relays.
