LSP releases additional details about officer-involved shooting

BASTROP, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana State Police Wednesday released additional details about an officer-involved shooting that took the life of a man on May 18, 2023. According to a news release, Bastrop Police responded to Morehouse General Hospital just before 9 a.m. for a victim who was suffering from “wounds derived from a knife”. During BPD’s investigation, they learned that the alleged suspect responsible for the injuries was located at 403 Smith Street.

LSP on scene of crash involving school bus

JACKSON PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana State Police are on the scene of a crash involving a school bus and another vehicle. According to Troop F, emergency responders are located on Highway 167 and Firetower Road, just south of Jonesboro. It is not known if any children were on the school bus as of this report. Monroe police on scene of possible shooting

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Officers with the Monroe Police Department are on the scene of a possible shooting after what’s been a violent few days. According to Detective Matt Schmitz, officers received information about a possible shooting at Winnsboro Road at South 9th Street just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. Investigators arrived on the scene. A KNOE reporter at the scene says the glass of a local 76 convenience store appears shattered while detectives speak with possible witnesses.
