Corrosion Monitoring of Metal Components in the Beishan Underground Laboratory
1 Introduction Nuclear power is an important low-carbon energy source, but its use generates high-level radioactive waste (HLW) that must be isolated safely over long periods [1, 2]. Deep geological disposal is widely regarded as the principal strategy for permanent HLW management because it combines engineered barriers with a stable geological environment [3]. Underground research laboratories provide site-specific platforms for testing disposal concepts at relevant scales.

Methods: We conducted a 35-month longitudinal study across 19 sites in Chongqing, China, quantifying SARS-CoV-2N gene concentrations via RT-qPCR to assess the value of WBE and the correlation between viral concentrations and meteorological fluctuations.
Compaction and Pressure Solution of Mixed Mineral Assemblages: Implications for Granite Fracture Sealing in the Near-Field of High-Level Radioactive Waste Repository
You are already at the latest version The sealing behavior of fracture-filling minerals in the near-field of the deep geological repository (DGR) is critical for the safe disposal of high-level radioactive waste (HLW). In granite host rocks, natural fractures are often filled with polymineralic assemblages of calcite, quartz, and clay minerals; however, their coupled compaction–pressure solution mechanisms under thermal–hydraulic–mechanical–chemical (THMC) conditions remain poorly understood.

Compound phellodendron decoction promotes post-fistulotomy wound healing by downregulating neutrophil extracellular traps formation: evidence from a randomized trial and mechanistic studies
Abstract Background: Persistent inflammation and dysregulated neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are key factors impairing postoperative wound healing. While the traditional formula Compound Phellodendron Decoction (CPD) is clinically effective in sitz-bath therapy, its mechanism of action, particularly concerning the novel therapeutic target NETosis, remains unknown. We hypothesized that CPD accelerates healing by downregulating NET formation.

Influencing factors of cardiac valve calcification (CVC) in patients with chronic kidney disease and the impact of CVC on long-term prognosis: a single-center retrospective study
Discussion Cardiac valve calcification (CVC) is one of the most common complications in patients with CKD (Bellasi et al., 2013). Mitral and aortic valve calcification is very common in patients with CKD (Plytzanopoulou et al., 2020). In addition to valvular stenosis or regurgitation, CVC can also lead to cardiac conduction abnormalities and infective endocarditis (Roberts, Salam & Roberts, 2022).
