MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Henry Vilas Zoo announced it will be closed the rest of the day Thursday after it received a violent threat, which police believe is a swatting situation. The Zoo explained in a Facebook post that it received a threat of violence at 1:40 p.m. and staff immediately called law enforcement. People were cleared out of the zoo and staff closed it for the rest of the day out of an abundance of caution.

Fond du Lac man accused of threatening to kill high-ranking Wisconsin official

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Fond du Lac man is accused of threatening a high-ranking Wisconsin official based in Madison, the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday. Bradley Hartmann, 46, is accused of three counts of terrorist threats and four counts of unlawful use of a telephone. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney said Hartmann’s bond was set at $15,000 on Wednesday. The state official is not named in the complaint.
