From sustainable tourism to community resilience: a social capital perspective on rural destinations in China
ABSTRACT Rural tourism has become a vital driver of rural revitalisation, but few studies have explored the links among social capital, sustainable tourism development, and tourism community resilience.
Carbon dioxide as a multifunctional regulator in electrochemical vicinal bromination
Abstract Vicinal dibromination of alkenes is a fundamentally important transformation in organic synthesis, as vicinal dibromides are prevalent motifs in bioactive molecules and serve as indispensable intermediates across chemical synthesis. Despite extensive advances in thermal, photochemical, and electrochemical dibromination, the development of efficient and practical dibromination methods using inexpensive and readily available bromine sources remains highly desirable.
Sepsis and septic shock after breast cancer surgery: risk modeling and machine learning validation across 328,292 cases
Abstract Postoperative sepsis is a rare but life-threatening complication after breast cancer surgery. Although infection risk in breast surgery is generally low, cancer-related immune dysregulation combined with surgical stress may increase susceptibility, yet large-scale data on incidence, risk factors, and outcomes remain limited. We conducted a retrospective analysis of the ACS-NSQIP database (2008–2022). Adult female patients undergoing breast cancer surgery were included.

Methyltransferase 3 promotes v-set and transmembrane domain-containing 2-like protein expression to intensify ferroptosis-mediated prostate adenocarcinoma progression through the m6A methylation modification
Background. Prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD) is a common malignancy with high incidence in men. The role of v-set and transmembrane domain containing 2-like protein (VSTM2L) in PRAD remains largely unreported. Methods. Gene expression was analyzed using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), the Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER) 2.0, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham CANcer data analysis Portal (UALCAN) databases, and validated by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blot.
OMC-bench and AtomBit-OMC: task-aligned benchmarks and robust, interpretable machine-learned interatomic potentials for organic molecular crystals
Abstract Organic molecular crystals (OMCs) underpin key applications in pharmaceuticals and functional materials, but accurate atomistic simulation remains difficult because OMC stability depends on subtle noncovalent interactions, conformational flexibility, and polymorphism.
Integrating miRNA profiling and machine learning for improved thyroid cancer diagnosis
Abstract Background: The incidence of thyroid cancer is rising significantly worldwide. It is particularly important to improve the diagnostic accuracy of thyroid cancer. This study aims to integrate miRNAs from fine needle aspiration (FNA) samples of thyroid nodules with machine learning algorithms to improve the accuracy of thyroid cancer diagnosis.
Stage-Dependent Shifts in Controls on Annual Erosion-Deposition Change Under Long-Term Sediment-Supply Decline in the Minjiang Estuary, Southeastern China
1 Introduction Estuaries are among the most dynamic land-sea transition zones on Earth (Zhang et al. 2025; Boesch 1996), where fluvial sediment supply, tides, waves, storms and human interventions interact to shape channel-shoal morphology, sediment transport and ecosystem functioning (Guo et al. 2021; Winterwerp and Wang 2013; van Maren and Cronin 2016).
PathInteract: a video analysis suite for capturing and analyzing pathology slide reviewing interactions
Abstract Digital pathology has transformed how pathologists review and interpret tissue specimens, enabling remote access, efficient storage, and advanced visualization. Systematically analyzing pathologists’ slide reviewing interactions can uncover opportunities to design AI-assisted tools that integrate seamlessly into routine practice. We present a proof-of-concept suite, PathInteract, for extracting pathology interaction signals from recorded slide-review videos.

Memory B cells in mature follicle-like tertiary lymphoid structures predict BCG response in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer
Abstract Response to intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) varies among patients with intermediate/high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). We investigated whether tumor-infiltrating memory B cells (MBCs) and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are associated with BCG response. RNA-sequencing data from GSE176178 served as the discovery cohort for identifying immune-cell subsets associated with BCG response via CIBERSORT deconvolution.
ER-mitochondria tether ML1 coordinates peripheral fission and wholesale mitophagy for plant adaptation to carbon starvation
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Plants frequently encounter carbon starvation from extended darkness or canopy shading or in nonphotosynthetic tissues, requiring rapid mitochondrial remodeling to match reduced metabolic flux.
A foundational deep learning force field for simulating IR and Raman spectra via molecular dynamics
Abstract Accurate and efficient simulation of infrared (IR) and Raman spectra is essential for molecular identification and structural analysis. Conventional harmonic approaches neglect anharmonicity and nuclear quantum effects, while ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) remains computationally expensive. Here, we integrate a deep equivariant tensor attention network (DetaNet) with molecular dynamics to enable fast and accurate spectral simulations.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis transmission from tuberculosis patients with and without recognized symptoms: a case-contact study in eastern China
Abstract A large number of tuberculosis patients manifest with minimal or no symptoms, and the infectiousness of these individuals is not well characterized. Index cases were consecutively enrolled from the four health centers in Jiangsu Province. Symptoms among index cases were assessed covering the 3 months prior to diagnostic evaluation, in addition to those present at the time of diagnosis. SAPCD2 phosphorylation modulates astral microtubule stability to control spindle orientation
Abstract Proper spindle orientation is essential for organogenesis and tissue homeostasis. Cortical tethering complexes, such as the Gαi-LGN-NuMA complex, anchor astral microtubules to guide spindle orientation. However, how astral microtubule stability is coupled to mitosis-dependent regulatory mechanisms remains unclear.

Nurse-led pulmonary rehabilitation: a cornerstone for healthy aging in chronic respiratory diseases
Abstract The global aging population has driven a substantial increase in chronic respiratory disease (CRD) prevalence, profoundly threatening functional independence and quality of life among older adults. Although pulmonary rehabilitation constitutes a grade A evidence-based intervention, traditional center-based models encounter persistent implementation challenges, including inadequate referral rates, limited accessibility, and poor patient adherence.
Controlling narrowband phosphorescence and delayed fluorescence by aggregate size
Abstract Exciton coherence is a phenomenon involving collective electronic transition dipole moments of molecular aggregates with interesting photophysical behaviors such as superradiance and subradiance in J- and H-type aggregates, respectively. Although singlet aggregate excitons have been extensively studied, the understanding of triplet exciton coherence in terms of specific conditions is still lacking due to limited experimental observations.
