UVA men's basketball competing at Battle 4 Atlantis

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS)-- Kemper Sports Live announced on Wednesday that the Virginia men's basketball team will be competing in the 2026 Battle 4 Atlantis over Thanksgiving week. Other teams in the field are Marquette, Texas A&M and Xavier. The games are scheduled to take place November 25 to the 27th at Imperial Arena on Paradise Island, Bahamas. The Cavaliers played in this tournament back in 2019 and won the Championship after beating Middle Tennessee, Dayton and Wisconsin.

Onyenso & Brown selected in second round of 2026 NBA Draft

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (CBS19 SPORTS)-- Former Virginia basketball center Ugonna Onyenso and former Duke and The Blue Ridge School's forward Maliq Brown were selected in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft. Onyenso was selected as the 53rd overall pick by the Houston Rockets, but then ultimately landed with the Detroit Pistons after the New York Knicks traded him. In one season at Virginia, Onyenso made his mark in Charlottesville.
