Redlands lowers speed limits on 55 roadways
The city of Redlands is lowering speed limits on 55 roadways, a move officials say will improve safety for motorists and pedestrians. Approved by the City Council in May, the new speed limits will be enforced beginning Sept. 1, according to the Redlands Police Department. Every seven to 14 years, the city conducts engineering and traffic surveys to determine reasonable and safe vehicle speeds on various roadways, according to a city report.
