ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – An Extreme Heat Advisory is in effect for Rochester from Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, and Rochester Public Transit (RPT) is offering free rides to help people get out of dangerous temperatures. The program, called “A Cool Place to Be,” allows anyone who is stuck outside in the heat to board an RPT bus without paying a fare. Riders should tell the driver they need to cool down, according to the city.
