In 1988, I started working as a full-time freelance music journalist in London, contributing to Kerrang!, Deadline, NME, Vox, London Evening Standard, Elle, i-D, Select, New Statesman and The Guardian among others.
I published two books on women and rock culture during the 1990s, Women, Sex and Rock'n'Roll, and Girls Will Be Boys, both with Pandora/HarperCollins.
In 1999, I began training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, and spent nine years in private practice in Tasmania.

of course. i used to smoke as well

It's made it less discerning, way too gossipy, and lowered the standard of writing
