AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 70-year-old Augusta woman says a neighbor’s misunderstanding led animal control to remove her dog from her home — and she never got the animal back. Patsy Shepherd has lived on Providence Circle for more than 40 years. Her dog, Wishy, had given birth to three puppies in early June. What happened on July 2 On July 2, Shepherd said brought Wishy outside to use the bathroom. One of the puppies began crying inside, and Wishy pulled back toward the door.

Fake Roblox link leads to hacking, swatting at Columbia County home

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A local teenager clicked a link on Discord that appeared to be a Roblox add-on. Instead, a hacker remotely took over his computer and accounts — and the family’s address ended up in the hands of someone who called a SWAT team to their door. Nyssa Schonaur said she heard the May 25 call that brought deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office to her home over a shooting that never happened.

EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Migrant laborers are central to the harvest at Costa Farms in Edgefield County, where 140 legal workers from Latin America help keep crops picked and the food supply moving. But many of those workers have no access to basic health care. For more than two decades, Costa Farms and Wellstar MCG have partnered to provide preventive health care to workers on-site — including EKGs and echocardiograms.
