Who I am: I am passionate about Jesus, people, family, storytelling, and sports. Those key aspects of my life drive me to be a better person and a better professional each day.
What I do: I am currently a Sports Anchor & Reporter at WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky.
Where I’ve been: Since starting my broadcasting career at KAIT in Jonesboro, Arkansas, I’ve been fortunate to be able to cover a variety of sporting events, including the NBA Playoffs (Grizzlies vs. Lakers in 2023), College Football Bowl Games (AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Camellia Bowl), the Sun Belt Conference Basketball Tournament, and even sports like disc golf (the PDGA Jonesboro Open) and bowling (PBA Jonesboro Open).
Being versatile is a quality I’ve learned throughout my high school and college career. In the summer of 2019, I volunteered at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Performance Center. There, I gained experience as a color commentator, host, backstage interviewer, and a panelist under the guidance of professionals from the Raw, Smackdown, and NXT brands. I learned the importance of passion and energy in your work through my time there. That summer, I also served as the communications intern in the Florida Collegiate Baseball Summer League in Orlando, where I was a play-by-play and color commentator, social media manager, and writer (game recaps/feature stories) for the team’s website Other responsibilities included: running the team’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), as well as writing game recaps and feature stories.
While in college, I provided play-by-play commentary for the Union University baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball teams, and in 2018, I was on the broadcast team for the NCAA Division II Women’s South Region Championship, in addition to multiple Gulf South Conference Tournament games. Outside of Union Athletics, I was also the anchor for ‘West Tennessee This Week,’ a show that aired on the local NBC affiliate in Jackson, Tennessee. I also did play-by-play and color for high school football and basketball in the Mayfield, Kentucky and Jackson, Tennessee areas.
My passion for journalism was sparked in high school, where I won three Kentucky High School Journalism Association State Championships.
What drives me: Getting to know the ‘why’ behind people’s stories is one of the major reasons I love doing what I do. My faith drives me to know the why. Whether it’s calling games or doing a feature package, one thing guaranteed to be showcased to the viewer is heart.
