Transforming agricultural waste into intelligent biopesticide delivery: soil-disintegrable tea saponin microcapsules for sustainable crop protection
1 INTRODUCTION Global agricultural sustainability is increasingly constrained by the ecological drawbacks of synthetic pesticides, which pose risks to nontarget organisms, soil health and water ecosystems while fostering pesticide resistance in pest populations.1 The tea industry, a vital cash crop sector worldwide, faces acute challenges from fungal pathogens (e.g. Colletotrichum camelliae and Phyllosticta theaefolia) and defoliating insects such as Ectropis obliqua, leading to substantial...
Urine metabolomics reveals key pathways supporting neuronal regeneration and consciousness recovery in disorders of consciousness
Abstract Disorders of consciousness (DoC) are debilitating conditions resulting from severe brain injury, requiring not only structural preservation but also active neuronal regeneration for recovery. These regenerative processes are metabolically demanding and can be tracked through systemic metabolic changes. Urine metabolomics provides a non-invasive approach to identifying metabolic signatures linked to neural recovery.
Stage-specific ROMO1 in rheumatoid arthritis: predictive immune insights into the MIF pathway and HLA-DR/IL2RA axis via integrated GWAS, transcriptomic, single-cell, and spatial profiling
Abstract Emerging evidence links reactive oxygen species modulator 1 (ROMO1), a key mitochondrial ROS regulator, to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis. However, its exact mechanism remains elusive given the conflicting evidence about its specific function. We used a four-level integrative framework combining multi-omics data and literature‑supported mechanistic inference.

Prediction of gait subtypes in children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy using Edinburgh Visual Gait Score
Abstract Objectives: Early and accurate gait subtype classification in children with spastic bilateral cerebral palsy (CP) is essential for guiding rehabilitation. While three-dimensional gait analysis is limited by cost and accessibility, the Edinburgh Visual Gait Score (EVGS) provides a feasible observational tool. This study evaluates the discriminative value of EVGS-derived features using machine learning to support gait phenotype stratification.
Multi-platform evidence of GSDMD-dependent pyroptosis in malaria with a potential role for TLR7
Abstract Background: Macrophage-mediated inflammation critically determines malaria pathology. Although pyroptosis contributes to host defense, excessive activation induces severe immunopathology. The precise pyroptotic pathways in splenic macrophages during Plasmodium infection, and the upstream regulatory mechanisms that govern them, remain unclear.

Brain criticality characterizes abnormal neural dynamics and metabolism in disorder of consciousness
Abstract Revealing how disrupted brain dynamics lead to altered consciousness levels remains a central challenge in understanding the neural mechanisms underlying consciousness. The brain criticality framework offers a promising perspective, in which optimal neural integration and information processing occur when the brain operates near a critical point, while also reflecting fundamental neural processes such as excitation/inhibition balance.

Historical and projected trends of long-term nitrogen dynamics from China’s mariculture
Abstract Mariculture sustains global food security yet generates substantial nitrogen waste through uneaten feed and metabolic excretion, with poorly quantified long-term fluxes. We assessed nitrogen dynamics of China’s mariculture from 1983 to 2024 and projected future trends under 12 scenarios. Here we show that nitrogen discharge surged 150-fold to 93.73–128.37 kilotons in 2024, driven by fed species.

Transverse asymmetry in molecular strong-field photoelectron holography induced by initial phase structure and Coulomb field
Transverse asymmetry (TA) signifies a feature of the photoelectron momentum distribution (PMD) when linearly polarized light interacts with tilted molecules, which has been widely employed in strong-field photoelectron holography. The initial phase structure and the asymmetric Coulomb field are considered as two different physical origins for the TA.
"Interleukin-33 Facilitates Liver Regeneration Through Serotonin-Involv" by Yankai Wen, Christoph Emontzpohl et al.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Insufficient liver regeneration causes post-hepatectomy liver failure and small-for-size syndrome. Identifying therapeutic targets to enhance hepatic regenerative capacity remains urgent. Recently, increased IL-33 was observed in patients undergoing liver resection and in mice after partial hepatectomy (PHx). The present study aims to investigate the role of IL-33 in liver regeneration after PHx and to elucidate its underlying mechanisms.
Eosinophils Protect Against Acetaminophen-Induced Liver Injury Through Cyclooxygenase-Mediated IL-4/IL-13 Production
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: A better understanding of the underlying mechanism of acetaminophen (APAP)-induced liver injury (AILI) remains an important endeavor to develop therapeutic approaches. Eosinophils have been detected in liver biopsies of patients with APAP overdose. We recently demonstrated a profound protective role of eosinophils against AILI; however, the molecular mechanism had not been elucidated.
"Hepatic Recruitment of Eosinophils and Their Protective Function Durin" by Long Xu, Yang Yang et al.
