Predicting postpartum diastasis recti abdominis using early-pregnancy abdominal wall ultrasound radiomics
Abstract Background: Diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) affects abdominal wall stability and is associated with low back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. Early identification of high-risk individuals is important for prevention and individualized management. Objective: To develop and validate a clinical–radiomics model based on early-pregnancy two-dimensional grayscale ultrasound images for predicting DRA at 42 days postpartum and establishing a risk stratification system.
Natural-Sunlight-Driven H 2 O 2 Photosynthesis Over Bandgap Engineered Truxene-Based Porous Aromatic Frameworks
1 Introduction Natural sunlight is an inexhaustible and inexpensive renewable energy source, which provides sustainable food and biomass sources to human beings through photosynthesis [1]. Giacomo Ciamician, a pioneering scientist in the field of organic photochemistry, proposed an envision to the scientific community: developing a chemical industry that could produce chemicals through sunlight, imitating the process of photosynthesis observed in plants [2].

Bioinformatics-driven design and protective efficacy assessment of a multi-epitope vaccine for Toxoplasma gondii
|
Abstract Introduction: Toxoplasma gondii can cause toxoplasmosis. It is an important type of pathogen within the broad category of emerging and re-emerging zoonoses. As an infectious disease featuring a complex multi-host transmission cycle, it poses an increasingly severe threat to global public health. No licensed vaccines are currently available for pets and humans, and thus a novel high-efficiency vaccine is urgently required.

Plastoglobules compartmentalize nitrogen assimilation in maize
|
Abstract Efficient nitrogen assimilation is important for sustainable agriculture1, yet its subcellular organization remains unknown. Here we show that plastoglobules (PGs) in the chloroplasts of mesophyll cells function as a metabolic hub that orchestrates nitrogen utilization in maize. Nitrogen-responsive dynamics of PGs represent a conserved feature across plant species.

Antiphospholipid antibody associated retinal microvascular impairment: a case report and literature review
Ocular involvement in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) classically presents as macrovascular thrombosis, such as retinal artery or vein occlusion. While microvascular manifestations are recognised in APS, isolated progressive retinal microvascular impairment as the sole clinical manifestation is rare and lacks comprehensive characterisation in the literature.

Toward a holistic evaluation of endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty outcomes
To the Editor: We read with interest the recent study by Lahooti et al,1 which provides valuable long-term evidence supporting endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) as an effective nonsurgical option for weight and metabolic improvement. Although the study is methodologically sound and clinically relevant, we offer the following constructive suggestions. First, patient heterogeneity warrants further attention.

The ‘Mystery’ of American Chinatown: An Interdisciplinary Study Between Literary Representation and Social Reality
ABSTRACT American Chinatown has been a complex and paradoxical economic, social, and cultural space. In the writings of Frank Chin, Fae Myenne Ng, and Charles Yu, Chinatown is depicted as a bounded community that elicits either a desire for escape or a nostalgic longing for return among Chinese Americans. However, since its establishment, the geographical boundaries of Chinatown have gradually dissolved, evolving from an ethnic enclave to an ethnoburb and eventually to a cultural community.

Endothelial MICU1 protects against vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis by inhibiting mitochondrial calcium uptake
Abstract Mitochondrial dysfunction fuels vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis. Mitochondrial calcium uptake 1 (MICU1) maintains mitochondrial Ca2+ homeostasis. However, the role of MICU1 in vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis remains unknown. Here, we report that endothelial MICU1 prevents vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis by maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis.
