Integrated mechanistic and serological analyses reveal determinants of antibody-dependent enhancement in respiratory coronaviruses
Abstract Background: Antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) is an important concern in viral infection, vaccine development, and antibody-based therapeutics. Although extensively studied in flaviviruses, the molecular mechanisms and epidemiological relevance of ADE in respiratory coronaviruses remain incompletely understood. This study aimed to investigate the epitope-specific mechanisms, cellular pathways, and population characteristics of ADE mediated by SARS-CoV-2 and MERS-CoV antibodies.
Hogan Lovells Cadwalader and One Family Foundation launch global report on the laws shaping social innovation at UN General Assembly Original

Metabolic reprogramming drives pancreatic β cell neogenesis from α cells
Abstract Loss of functional β cells is a hallmark of diabetes, and restoring β cell mass remains a critical goal in the quest for a specific therapy. One potential strategy is to convert non-β cells in the islet, such as α cells, into insulin-producing cells. Although several compounds have been identified to induce β cell-like features in α cells, none have been successfully translated into clinical applications.
Quantitative study on water and glycosaminoglycan contents based on T 2 relaxation time of intervertebral disks
Abstract Background: Water and glycosaminoglycan (GAG) are essential for intervertebral disk biomechanics and their loss marks early degeneration, yet the quantitative relationship between T2 relaxation time and contents of water and GAG remains unclear due to low-resolution sampling. Purpose: To establish the quantitative relationships between T2 relaxation time and key biochemical components of intervertebral disk (water and GAG).

A multimodal evidence-driven framework for clinical decision support in cognitive impairment
Abstract Deep learning approaches for cognitive impairment diagnosis have shown considerable promise, but their clinical translation remains limited by poor interpretability and weak linkage between model outputs and established medical evidence. Here we developed the Multimodal Evidence-Driven Reasoning Framework (MEDRF), which integrates a Multimodal Hierarchical Cascade (mHC) classifier with a retrieval-augmented large language model (RAG-LLM) for evidence-guided reasoning.
Reframing macrophage polarization through cholesterol efflux: an organelle-coupled immunometabolic model
Abstract Macrophages reside at the interface of immunity and metabolism, where their functional states are traditionally described by the M1/M2 polarization paradigm. However, this binary framework fails to capture the dynamic integration between inflammatory signaling and lipid metabolism that underlies macrophage behavior in chronic diseases.
Association of serological markers with endoscopic mucosal healing and disease activity in patients with inflammatory bowel disease: a retrospective study
Abstract Objective: This study aimed to examine the link between serological markers and endoscopic mucosal healing and inflammation in diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients. Methods: Clinical data from 200 IBD patients (91 with ulcerative colitis [UC] and 109 with Crohn’s disease [CD]) admitted between December 2022 and June 2024 were retrospectively analyzed, alongside 100 healthy controls.

Stochastic resilience of Arctic sea ice: a framework bridging theory and observation
Abstract Arctic sea ice has declined rapidly in extent, thickness, and albedo, yet a quantitative observational measure of its resilience remains elusive. Here, we introduce a resilience potential framework that links a reduced Arctic surface energy balance to an effective potential whose curvature and barrier structure provide physically interpretable stability diagnostics.
Hogan Lovells advises Eaton in pending combination with Dana
Upon closing of the transaction, Eaton will operate a more focused portfolio concentrated on its Electrical and Aerospace businesses. The separation is expected to be immediately accretive to Eaton’s organic growth rate and operating margins upon closing. Eaton expects to deploy the approximately US$1.1 billion cash distribution from the transaction consistent with its existing capital allocation framework and priorities, including repayment of outstanding indebtedness.
Development of a predictive model for pancreatic cancer integrating serum metabolomics and polygenic risk score
Abstract Background: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is highly aggressive and associated with extremely poor prognosis. Due to the lack of specfic symptoms in the early stage, most patients have already lost the opportunity for curative surgical resection at the time of diagnosis. Therefore, improving the early identification of individuals at elevated risk of PC is clinically important. Methods: Using data from the UK Biobank, 157,235 participants were included.

The secretory protein, CLCF1, improves cholestatic liver disease by inhibiting hepatic bile acid synthesis and promoting bile acid excretion
Abstract Cholestatic liver disease (CLD) is characterized by disrupted bile acid (BA) homeostasis and excessive accumulation of toxic bile acids in the liver. While both genetic and acquired factors are known to contribute to its pathogenesis, the full spectrum of underlying pathological mechanisms remains incompletely understood, and treatment options are limited.
SlbHLH127 redirects metabolic flux into tomato steroidal glycoalkaloid biosynthesis via directly activates SlGAME4 and SlGAME12
INTRODUCTION Steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGAs) are nitrogen-containing specialized metabolites that accumulate widely across solanaceous plants, including economically important species, such as potato (Solanum tuberosum) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) (Friedman, 2002; Itkin et al., 2011; Itkin et al., 2013).

Matrix stiffness-induced YEATS2 drives HCC progression via epigenetic activation of the TGFBR2-TAZ-AKT pathway - Cell Death & Differentiation
Abstract YEATS2, a crucial component of histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes, has been identified as overexpressed in multiple human cancers and is correlated with tumor advancement and unfavorable clinical outcomes. The precise role of YEATS2 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains to be fully elucidated. This study seeks to investigate the function and mechanisms by which YEATS2 facilitates HCC growth and metastasis.
Upper-ocean stratification changes control ENSO amplitude shift under sustained global warming - Nature Communications
Abstract As projected by climate models in the high emission scenarios, the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) exhibits a non-monotonic amplitude shift. However, its key drivers remain poorly quantified. Here we introduce a framework using an intermediate coupled model (ICM) that coherently represents mean-state oceanic climatologies in the tropical Pacific, derived from eight selected climate models across three periods (1940–1990, 2040–2090 and 2240–2290).
