BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great Independence Day. We’ve been tracking showers and storms in west Alabama this morning. The cloud cover and wet weather have kept temperatures in the lower 80s. The eastern half of the state has seen sunshine allowing temperatures to climb into the upper 80s before noon. Storms are already developing in north Alabama and into Tennessee.

Current Air Quality(WBRC) We are seeing poor air quality across central Alabama due to all of the smoke from fireworks last night. I highly recommend avoiding any strenuous outdoor activity this morning as air quality levels remain unhealthy to moderate in Jefferson and Shelby, St. Clair, Blount and Cullman counties.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Good morning and happy Independence Day! It’s another warm and muggy start to the day with temperatures in the low-to-mid-70s. We remain mostly dry with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Today is another First Alert Weather Day. A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of central Alabama until 9 p.m. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity levels will make for triple digit heat indices.
