On July 1 at 7:20 P.M., Troopers out of SP Buffalo, Troop T, were dispatched to a one car property damage collision on I-190 southbound at mile-marker 13.9 in the town of Tonawanda.

Sinkhole swallows car after water main break off I-60 exit in Syracuse A water main break has forced the closure of a key exit ramp on I-690 and a stretch of roadway in Syracuse, leaving the area unstable and a car damaged. Victim of fatal crash on I-481 identified as Upstate Medical University student Upstate University Hospital has identified the victim who died in a crash in DeWitt on June 29 as a student. The fire that broke out at the old Great Northern Mall was caused by vandals.

Globally, extreme heat is the number one weather-related killer, claiming more lives each year than hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes combined. "When you think about us as humans, heat injury sneaks up on us," says New York State Health Commissioner Jim McDonald. "When it's this hot, when you're talking about what we're going through right now, all of us are at risk. Some people are more at risk.
