Sweet Treat Factory grand opening set for July 17

(KALB) - The Sweet Treat Factory is holding its grand opening on Friday, July 17, beginning at 11 a.m. The store offers candy classics, more than 36 ice cream flavors, homemade truffles, specialty chocolates, exotic snacks, viral toys and additional items. Worker Kimberly Robinson said the grand opening will be larger in scale than the store’s earlier soft launch. Starfish Ministries to host inaugural Royal Ball fundraiser in support of foster care expansion

(KALB) - Starfish Ministries has announced that tickets are now available for its first-ever Royal Ball and gala fundraiser, a Regency-era-themed evening benefiting the organization’s foster care programming in Central Louisiana. The event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bentley Ballroom. Guests are encouraged to wear Regency-inspired formal attire. The evening will include a string quartet, silent auction, dancing, dinner and macaron towers.
