ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Radio Maria USA was recently recognized for its work in ministry and gospel music with an award from the Vernon Parish Gospel Music Academy on September 2, 2025. The national headquarters for Radio Maria USA (English) is located in Alexandria, Louisiana, but the radio network has towers that transmit all over the country - and is part of a larger global network that broadcasts across the world in several languages.

JUBILEE! Cenla churches celebrate a year of hope, prayer

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Catholic Church is in the middle of what is called a Jubilee Year. Bishop Robert Marshall and Deacon Richard Mitchell, with the Diocese of Alexandria, are promoting this time of celebration by encouraging a prayerful pilgrimage throughout Central Louisiana. Before his death, the late Pope Francis announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, which is a year of celebration, joy and grace. This happens every 25 years.
