Global change pattern of sedimentary nitrogen isotope during the Anthropocene epoch - Communications Earth & Environment
Abstract Nitrogen (N) cycling has been reshaped during the Anthropocene epoch, yet the global change pattern of sedimentary N stable isotope (δ15N) remains unclear. Previous research has mainly focused on changes of sedimentary δ15N in remote areas or during the Holocene epoch, yet the differentiation of sedimentary δ15N between remote areas and disturbed regions and the onset of the differentiation time are neglected in the Anthropocene epoch.
硒肥施用对葛根品质及其As、Cd积累的影响
Kudzu was selected as the test crop, and three application methods of selenium(Se)fertilizer were designed in the field experiments:root application, foliar spray, and a combination of root and foliar application. The effects of Se fertilizer application on Kudzu quality(soluble sugar, soluble starch, and puerarin)and the accumulation of Se,arsenic(As),and cadmium(Cd)were examined.
Manipulating Unisexual-Sexual Reproduction Transition to Engineer Genome‐Reconstructed Polyploids
1 Introduction Sexual reproduction predominates among eukaryotic organisms.[1-3] During meiosis and fertilization, recombination and gamete fusion give rise to genetically variable progenies, which serve as the basis for selection in agriculture.[4, 5] However, the beneficial traits obtained through sexual reproduction, especially heterosis, would segregate in subsequent generations.[5-7] Harnessing unisexual reproduction has been hailed as the holy grail of agriculture, as it is expected to...
Droplet detachment from a vertical filament with one end clamped
Understanding whether a droplet adheres to or detaches from a flexible filament upon axial impact is of significant interest, particularly in the context of raindrop impact on natural surfaces. This process involves dynamic buckling followed by mode coarsening, dissipating the initial droplet kinetic energy and converting the remaining into elastic energy of the filament.
Graphene Microelectrode Arrays, 4D Structured Illumination Microscopy, and a Machine Learning Spike Sorting Algorithm Permit the Analysis of Ultrastructural Neuronal Changes During Neuronal Signaling in a Model of Niemann-Pick Disease Type C - Lu - Advanc
1 Introduction The advent of microelectrode arrays (MEAs) has facilitated the long-term, large-scale monitoring of local field potentials of neurons, offering non-invasive recordings of a broad range of spatial and temporal neuronal signals, thus, surpassing traditional patch-clamp recordings.[1-4] Nevertheless, non-transparent MEAs often encounter limitations in fundamental and therapeutic neuroscience research due to their incompatibility with advanced imaging setups and the constraints...
Preparation of a reactive flame retardant by functional modification of lignin and its application in phenolic foam
Preparation of a reactive flame retardant by functional modification of lignin and its application in phenolic foam With the emergence of new standards for fire prevention, phenolic foam has attracted increasing attention due to its satisfactory cleanliness and flame retardancy. With the increasing exhaustion of fossil energy and environmental problems, finding renewable energy sources to replace petroleum-derived phenol has become a new research hotspot.

Clostridium ablates tumors by degrading collagen mesh and inducing ferroptosis
Abstract The supportive role of extracellular matrix in tumor growth and the drug resistance of tumor cells stand the major challenges in treating cancer. Here, we report the discovery of an oncolytic Clostridium strain, named RJ-1, which simultaneously expresses collagenases and produces iron-containing particles through intrabacterial mineralization. The secreted collagenases degrade pre-existing collagen mesh and show a collagen concentration-dependent degradation feature.

Graphene microelectrode arrays, 4D structured illumination microscopy, and a machine learning-based spike sorting algorithm permit the analysis of ultrastructural neuronal changes during neuronal signalling in a model of Niemann-Pick disease type C
Abstract Simultaneously recording network activity and ultrastructural changes of the synapse is essential for advancing our understanding of the basis of neuronal functions. However, the rapid millisecond-scale fluctuations in neuronal activity and the subtle sub-diffraction resolution changes of synaptic morphology pose significant challenges to this endeavour.
Dynamic Buckling of a Filament Impacted by a Falling Droplet
We investigate the buckling dynamics of an elastic filament impacted axially by a falling liquid droplet, and identify the buckling modes through a combination of experimental and theoretical analyses. A phase diagram is constructed on a plane defined by two primary parameters: the falling height and the filament length. Two transition boundaries are observed, with one marking the occurrence of dynamic buckling and the other separating the buckling regime into two distinct modes.

Multiple studies aimed at understanding the mechanisms of replication of the mitochondrial genome have been conducted in the past several decades; however, while highly informative, they were conducted using relatively low-sensitivity techniques.
Clinical performance of two onlay designs for molars after root canal treatment.
To evaluate the clinical performance of two proposed onlay designs. Molars with occlusal and/or mesial/distal defects after root canal treatment were classified by design into three groups. Onlays without shoulders were the control group (Group C, n = 50). The designed onlays were Group O (n = 50) and the designed mesio-occlusal/disto-occlusal onlays were Group MO/DO (n = 80).
Enhanced Performance of Transfer‐Free Graphene Transparent Conductive Films on Insulating Substrates by Introducing Array Nanostructure
Graphical Abstract The transfer-free graphene was directly deposited on insulating substrates by assisted catalysis of Cu foil. We further proposed an effective strategy to obtain graphene/AR composite TCFs with further improved optical performance by introducing a new type of c-S/HSNSs antireflection array nanostructure while ensuring the electrical properties. Abstract Graphene is one of the most prevailing materials to replace traditional transparent conductive films (TCFs).
Engineering β-ketoamine covalent organic frameworks for photocatalytic overall water splitting - Nature Communications
Abstract Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are an emerging type of crystalline and porous photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution, however, the overall water splitting activity of COFs is rarely known. In this work, we firstly realized overall water splitting activity of β-ketoamine COFs by systematically engineering N-sites, architecture, and morphology.

Confining and Highly Dispersing Single Polyoxometalate Clusters in Covalent Organic Frameworks by Covalent Linkages for CO2 Photoreduction
Single clusters have attracted extensive research interest in the field of catalysis. However, achieving a highly uniform dispersion of a single-cluster catalyst is challenging. In this work, for the first time, we present a versatile strategy for uniformly dispersed polyoxometalates (POMs) in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) through confining POM cluster into the regular nanopores of COF by a covalent linkage.
