Synthetic Biology-Enabled Nucleic Acid Aptamers, Phage Endolysins and Peptide Aptamers for Controllable Capture of Staphylococcus aureus in Complex Matrices
Abstract Proper sample pre-processing of Staphylococcus aureus is critical for achieving high sensitivity in food safety testing and clinical diagnostics. Immunomagnetic separation (IMS) is a well-established approach for bacterial isolation and enrichment, although its performance can be influenced by antibody format and stability, immobilization chemistry, sample matrix, and downstream analytical requirements.

Molecular mechanisms for subtype selectivity of kinin receptors’ antagonists
Abstract The kinin receptors B1R and B2R act as key regulators within the kallikrein–kinin system, mediating vasodilation, inflammation, and pain. Antagonists targeting these receptors have shown therapeutic potential in the treatment of angioedema, pancreatitis, and asthma. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying subtype selectivity of kinin receptors’ antagonists remain unclear.
Solar-powered circular desalination agriculture enabled by amyloid fibril-based bioevaporators
Abstract Coastal agriculture is constrained by freshwater scarcity and the linear, resource-intensive nature of conventional farming, with substantial waste and environmental impacts. Here we report solar-powered circular desalination agriculture, which harnesses sunlight and seawater to produce food with minimal waste.

Topical propranolol for infantile hemangioma: a comprehensive review of mechanisms, clinical efficacy, and novel formulations
1 Introduction Infantile hemangioma (IH) is the most prevalent benign soft tissue tumor of infancy, occurring in approximately 4%–10% of full-term infants and up to 8%–12% of preterm infants. Key risk factors include placenta previa, placental insufficiency, decreased gestational age, and very low birth weight (1). About 60% of IH occurs in the head and neck region, some of which can severely affect organ function and aesthetics.
Comprehensive analysis of heavy metal pollution in the Yellow River Basin from 1980 to 2025: trends, hotspots, and future directions
Abstract Heavy metal pollution poses potential risks to aquatic ecosystems and public health, making it a widespread concern in the Yellow River Basin—one of China’s major energy bases. Current studies still lack a systematic overview of its progress and prospects. In this work, a bibliometric analysis of research on heavy metal pollution indexed in Web of Science (WOS) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from 1980 to 2025 was conducted, retrieving a total of 1,830 relevant records.

Exploring the role of phenothiazine conformations and their interconversion on the electrochemical behaviour of organic electrodes
Exploring the role of phenothiazine conformations and their interconversion on the electrochemical behaviour of organic electrodes Organic electrode materials are promising candidates for rechargeable batteries due to their environmental friendliness, low-temperature synthesis, and tunable structure. While most studies focus on molecular design, we begin to explore how molecular conformation and aggregation state affect electrochemical performance.

Abstract The commercialization and deployment of China’s independently developed third-generation nuclear power technology HPR1000 is progressing steadily. HPR1000 is a pressurized water reactor, which is a type of light water reactor. As one of the most critical design-basis accidents in light water reactors, loss-of-coolant accidents (LOCAs) have been a focal point in nuclear safety research.

Chiral absorption enhancement via critically coupled resonances in atomically thin photonic crystal exciton-polaritons
Atomically thin transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDS) offer a promising route to the scaling down of optoelectronic devices to the ultimate thickness limit. But the weak light–matter interaction caused by their atomically thin nature makes them inevitably rely on external photonic structures to enhance optical absorption.

Clinicopathological characteristics and postoperative prognosis of patients with nuclear pedigree of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
1 Introduction China is one of the countries with the highest incidence rate and mortality rate of esophageal cancer, and nearly half of the new esophageal cancer in the world occurs in China (1, 2). The obvious familial aggregation is a prominent epidemiological feature of esophageal cancer in China, which is manifested by the fact that more than one patient in a family suffer from esophageal cancer.
Identifying determinants for the seropositive rate of schistosomiasis in Hunan province, China: A multi-scale geographically weighted regression model
Loading metrics Open Access Peer-reviewed Research Article Abstract Background Schistosomiasis is of great public health concern with a wide distribution and multiple determinants. Numerical Modeling of Nearshore Wave Transformation and Breaking Processes in the Yellow River Delta with FUNWAVE-TVD Wave Model
Abstract : The presence of wave coherence, which contributes to the inhomogeneity of wave characteristics and significantly affects wave processes over nearshore regions of the Yellow River Delta (YRD), was simulated and analyzed in this study. A phase-resolving Boussinesq-type wave model, FUNWAVE-TVD, was used to simulate waves with desirable coherency effects. Bathymetry and topography data were obtained from the Chinese nautical chart and E.U. Copernicus Marine Service Information.
Efficient Cu2O Photocathodes for Aqueous Photoelectrochemical CO2 Reduction to Formate and Syngas
Photoelectrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (PEC–CO2R) represents a promising approach for producing renewable fuels and chemicals using solar energy. However, attaining even modest solar-to-fuel (STF) conversion efficiency often necessitates the use of costly semiconductors and noble-metal catalysts. Herein, we present a Cu2O/Ga2O3/TiO2 photocathode modified with Sn/SnOx catalysts through a simple photoelectrodeposition method.

Simulation of high-frequency dissolved oxygen dynamics in a shallow estuary, the Corsica River, Chesapeake Bay
1 Introduction Eutrophication and hypoxia caused by anthropogenic nutrient loading to coastal and estuarine systems is an ever-growing environmental challenge in the 21st century (Diaz and Rosenberg, 2008; Howarth et al., 2011; Rabalais et al., 2014; Hale et al., 2016). Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the U.S. and the third largest worldwide, continues to experience hypoxia during summer (Boynton, 1997; Murphy et al., 2011; Scavia et al., 2021).

Long-term pituitary downregulation before frozen embryo transfer improves clinical outcomes in women positive for serum autoantibodies
Abstract Objective Autoantibodies are associated with worse outcomes in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), including increasing miscarriage rate, lowering pregnancy rate, and lowering delivery rate. However, little is known about improving IVF/ICSI outcomes for autoantibody-positive women, especially in frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles.
