Some of these storms will contain frequent lightning, torrential downpours, isolated flooding and some strong wind gusts. Afternoon high temperatures will heat above the 90 degree mark before the storms begin. More triple digit (100-105) heat index values from noon onwards.

Our holiday weekend weather is looking kind of mixed with high chances for rain and storms each day, along with some sunshine as well. This all due to continued high levels of moisture through a deep layer of the atmosphere along with weak "troughing" offshore. High heat and humidity remain in the forecast. "Feels like" temperatures this afternoon and through the weekend will reach the triple digits for many areas.

Far Western Palm Beach County, including Belle Glade has moved from a moderate drought (D1) to a severe drought (D2). Drought monitor comparison Drought severity ranges from D1 (Moderate) up to a D4 level (Exceptional). The rest of our area shows ongoing drought conditions across interior locales.
