Abstract Groundwater-level fluctuations can induce differential deformation at ground-fissure sites, yet systematic experimental investigations of hydraulic and layered deformation responses across fissures during pumping-recharge remain limited. This study focuses on the F4 ground-fissure area in Yuhuazhai, Xi’an, and employs a large-scale physical model to investigate hydro-mechanical responses under layered groundwater pumping-recharge conditions.

YOLOv8-based real-time obstacle detection in farmland environments for heavy-load agricultural UAVs
Abstract Heavy-load agricultural UAVs operating at low altitude over farmland often encounter three major difficulties: unreliable recognition of distant small obstacles, unstable localization of elongated targets, and strong interference from cluttered backgrounds. To cope with these challenges, this work introduces a lightweight real-time obstacle detection framework by redesigning YOLOv8n for farmland scenes.

Abstract Background: Multiple primary colon cancer is a relatively rare type of colon cancer (CC), and it is even rarer to have endoscopic obstruction. Case summary: A 70-year-old female patient was previously diagnosed with sigmoid colon cancer accompanied by endoscopic obstruction at an external hospital. Preoperative abdominal enhanced CT in our hospital revealed one segmental bowel wall thickening with intussusception, and two separate thickened lesions in the transverse colon.

Calibrations of flat alkali acid phthalate crystals between 650 and 2400 eV using synchrotron radiation
We have developed a dual goniometer end-station using Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource, beamline 16-2, in the energy range of 650–2400 eV for crystal calibrations. Three alkali acid phthalate crystals [potassium acid phthalate (KAP), rubidium acid phthalate (RbAP), and cesium acid phthalate (CsAP)] with (001) Miller indices are used to demonstrate the capability of our current experimental setup.

Non-coding genetic elements of lung cancer identified using whole genome sequencing in 13,722 Chinese - Nature Communications
Abstract A substantial portion of lung cancer-associated genetic elements in East Asian populations remains unidentified, underscoring the need for large-scale genome-wide studies, particularly on non-coding regulation. We conducted a whole genome sequencing (WGS)-based genome-wide scan in 13,722 Chinese individuals to identify regulatory elements associated with lung cancer. We verified common-variant-based loci by meta-analysis across the available East Asian studies.
