GREENWOOD, Arkansas — As emergency calls rise in Greenwood, city leaders are considering whether to apply for a federal grant that could help add more fire department staff. If approved, the city would pursue a FEMA grant known as SAFER. In a growing city like Greenwood, Fire Chief Stewart Bryan says more people mean more emergency calls, and the department must grow to keep up. "We're getting more than 100 calls a month, and we're needing to add some staffing to address those calls," Bryan said.
