WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - Waterbury’s Independence Day celebration at Hamilton Park ended after just a few hours Friday morning due to extreme heat. The city took several steps to help guests manage the conditions. Shade covered every table and vendor area. A water wagon offered free drinking water. The Hamilton Park Pool, which normally requires registration, was open on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents react Jamie Rodriguez, of Waterbury, attended the event with her family.
