(KY3) - Ruby Rogers is an energetic four-and-a-half-year-old who loves to dance, swim, and play with her doll Cora that goes with her everywhere. “She is funny and excitable, she is joyous. She dances around all day long,” said Brittny Rogers. Ruby’s parents, Justin and Brittny, say she’s silly and fun and just like most kids in many ways. But in May 2025, Ruby was having headaches and getting sick. When things didn’t get better, they took her to the emergency room.

KY3 meteorologist’s mom receives liver transplant

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KY3) - We have some encouraging news to report about Cheryl Chesnut, the mother of KY3 Meteorologist Brandon Beck. She had a successful liver transplant surgery Monday morning in Salt Lake City. Brandon says everything seems to be going well. We featured Cheryl in our special report “Lives on the List” in March. One day later, Brandon got an email from the head of the transplant program at a hospital in Salt Lake City, who grew up in Springfield and keeps up with the news here.

Willard Police Chief shares update one month after double lung transplant

St. LOUIS, Mo. (KY3) - Today marks one month since Willard Police Chief Tom McClain received a double lung transplant in St. Louis. We shared his story with you in our special report in March called “Lives on the List.” McClain was put on the transplant list in early March. They got a call for lungs in early April and got their hopes up, but learned the donor’s lungs couldn’t be used.
