CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Charlotte Rescue Mission served around 150 people Thursday morning and expects to feed approximately 800 people when it opens its doors to the broader community for Thanksgiving. Dozens of volunteers worked to clean, prep, cook and serve traditional Thanksgiving meals with turkey, potatoes and other holiday staples. The shelter primarily serves people experiencing homelessness in Charlotte, but anyone needing help can receive a warm meal.
