Habitat Type and Disturbance Intensity Are Associated With Invasive Plant Community Structure Across an Urbanizing Subtropical Island
1 Introduction Rapid urbanization is a primary factor leading to habitat loss and fragmentation, creating novel environments where plant invasions pose a significant threat to native biodiversity (Hobbs and Huenneke 1992). The success of alien species in these modified landscapes is often examined through concepts related to resource use and environmental tolerance. These concepts suggest that invasive species thrive by exploiting available resources.
Renal proteomic landscape of a patient with Fanconi renotubular syndrome carrying a novel GATM variant
Abstract Background: Fanconi renotubular syndrome (FRTS) is a rare Mendelian disorder characterized by proximal tubular dysfunction. FRTS type 1 (FRTS1) has been associated with heterozygous variants in GATM, encoding mitochondrial glycine amidinotransferase. Although GATM-related mitochondrial abnormalities have been proposed to contribute to tubular injury, the molecular alterations in human kidney tissue remain incompletely understood.

Pan-cancer analysis of tissue-plasma genomic concordance reveals enhanced concordance with liver metastasis and plasma clonality as predictor of poorer overall survival
Abstract Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) enables noninvasive tumor genotyping, yet its concordance with tissue remains unclear. Using a 437-gene panel in 1111 pan-cancer patients, we compared somatic variants between ctDNA and matched tissues. ctDNA detection sensitivity (61.5%) correlated with advanced stage (r = 0.955, p = 0.045) and tumor size (r = 0.955, p = 0.045). Actionable alterations were detected in 49.2% (ctDNA) and 77.1% (tissue) of patients.

Sub-nanometer displacement measurement vortex interferometer combining speckle-based feedback alignment and global Zernike fitting
Vortex beam-based interferometric measurement technology is widely utilized in high-precision displacement measurement. However, beam misalignment leads to interference pattern distortion, introducing significant measurement errors. To address this, we propose a vortex interferometer based on speckle-correlation feedback alignment and global Zernike polynomial fitting.

Cascaded nonlinear down-conversion in poling-free lithium niobate nanophotonic waveguides - Nature Communications
Abstract While cascaded second-order nonlinear processes have revolutionized shorter-wavelength light generation through up-conversion, their potential for longer-wavelength emission via parametric down-conversion remains fundamentally unexplored – constrained by narrow phase-matching bandwidths, insufficient parametric gain and stringent requirements on complex poling.
Ultrafast optical skyrmions generated via an achromatic Sagnac vortex generator
Optical skyrmions extend the concept of topological protection from high-energy physics and condensed matter physics to the field of optics, and their unique polarization textures exhibit remarkable potential in numerous domains. However, to date, ultrafast optical skyrmions remain underexplored. This paper proposes a scheme for generating ultrafast optical skyrmion pulses based on a modified self-referenced Sagnac vortex generator.
Intelligent mode-locked single-cavity dual-comb laser utilizing time-stretch dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy
As single-cavity dual combs play a significant role in numerous high-precision measurements, their efficient generation has been widely researched. To achieve stable dual-comb mode locking remains, a two-part evaluation criterion containing a fitness function and a CNN-Transformer network is employed. Simulated time-stretch dispersive Fourier transform (DFT) spectra are used as datasets, which simplify the optimization process and do not rely on specific experimental data.

Continuous-wave degenerate cavity laser for optical imaging in scattering media
Lasers play a significant role in optical communication, medical, and scientific research, owing to their high brightness and high coherence. However, the high spatial coherence will lead to specific challenges, such as speckle noise in imaging and wavefront distortion during propagation through scattering media. Here, a continuous-wave (cw) degenerate cavity laser (DCL) with low spatial coherence is demonstrated with efficient suppression of the thermal lensing effect from the gain crystal.
Mode-locking and wavelength-tuning of a NPR fiber laser based on optical speckle
Passively mode-locked fiber lasers based on nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) have been widely used due to their ability to produce short pulses with high peak power. Nevertheless, environmental perturbations can influence the mode-locked state, making it a challenge for the practical implementation. Therefore, researchers are searching for assessment criteria to quickly assist and maintain mode-locking of NPR fiber lasers.

Yb-doped mode-locked fiber laser with a hybrid structure of NPR and a Lyot filter as the saturable absorber
Passively mode-locked fiber lasers based on a nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) have attracted much attention due to their ability to generate short pulses with wide spectra and high peak power. However, environmental perturbations can easily cause the lasers to lose the mode-locked state and make it a challenge for practical application. The aim of this research is to improve the laser stability by inserting a Lyot filter into the mode-locked laser cavity.

Crystal Structure, Vibrational Spectra on Trivalent-Cation-Doped Rutile and Application in Optical Materials
Rutile is the most common TiO2 mineral with extensive application in the field of optical materials, and trivalent cations can significantly substitute Ti4+ with charge balanced by protonation. Several M3+-doped (M = Al, Ni, Co, Cr, Ga, Fe, and Mn) rutile samples were synthesized at 3 GPa (gigapascal) and 1273 K. The MO6-octahedral distortion model provides a reasonable explanation for the order of the M3+ concentrations.

All-fiber passively Q-switched laser with flat-top beam emissions
Abstract Flat-top beams have plenty of applications in theoretical and applied research, but they are not eigenmodes of the wave equation. Here, we propose an effective strategy for generating flat-top beams in fibers, which originates from the incoherent superposition of orbital angular momentum (OAM) and fundamental (LP01) modes. The designed all-fiber passively Q-switched laser can realize high-quality pulsed flat-top and OAM beam emissions.
