A dual-pathway dysregulation in prefrontal-habenular circuits mediates stress susceptibility
Abstract Chronic stress disrupts emotional homeostasis, leading to resilience or susceptibility through unclear mechanisms. Here, we identify a dual-pathway mechanism in the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (dmPFC)-lateral habenula (LHb) circuit in male mice, where glutamatergic and GABAergic projections coordinately regulate stress responses.

Electrochemical Activation of α-Carbonyl Alkoxyamines for Direct Nucleophilic Substitution
2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-derived alkoxyamines (alkyl-TEMPO) are frequently encountered in the methodology literature, most often obtained when the persistent aminoxyl radical TEMPO captures an in situ generated C-centered radical. (1,2) The utility of alkyl-TEMPO species has traditionally been limited to either oxidation to ketones using m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid or reduction to free alcohols using zinc.
Effect of Targeted Probiotics on Anesthesia‐Induced Sleep Disturbances via Modulating the Gut Microbiome and Metabolites
1 Introduction Quality sleep is essential for physical and mental health, and is beneficial for cognition, memory consolidation, immunity, and hormone regulation (Baranwal et al. 2023). Experimental investigation on residual gas re-explosion behaviors following primary fuel-rich explosions of methane-bituminous coal powder mixtures
ABSTRACT This study aims to identify the re-explosion hazard after a primary explosion of a fuel-rich methane and bituminous coal powder mixture. Primary and re-explosion experiments were conducted using a spherical explosion testing apparatus. The results reveal that once the mixture of methane and bituminous coal powder reaches a certain degree of fuel enrichment, an explosion can occur under the condition of reintroducing a certain volume of air and igniting.
Bright light exposure suppresses feeding and weight gain via a visual circuit linked to the lateral hypothalamus - Nature Neuroscience
Abstract Environmental light regulates nonimage-forming functions like feeding, and bright light therapy shows anti-obesity potential, yet its neural basis remains unclear. Here we show that bright light treatment effectively reduces food intake and mitigates weight gain in mice through a visual circuit involving the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA).

Reduced neural suppression at occipital cortex in subthreshold depression - Translational Psychiatry
Abstract Impaired visual perception and biochemical changes in the occipital cortex have been observed in major depression. However, the neural basis underlying these abnormalities remains yet elusive. Importantly, it remains unknown whether these abnormalities are present in the early stage of depression, known as subthreshold depression (SD). Recognized as a precursor of major depression, SD has gained a growing attention in both research and clinical fields.
