FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WAFF) - Plans are underway in Ft Payne to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country. Money is being raised to help complete the Patriots Memorial Park. In 2005, a local group came together to build the patriots memorial park on 5th street and highway 35. Construction underway on parking lot for new Guntersville High School

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Progress is being made on the new Guntersville High School. Right now, crews are working on the new parking lot, which is phase one of construction. Superintendent Jason Barnett said it is a key component to creating more space at the high school. “Obviously, as we start building our new high school it is going to take up a lot of our current parking with construction. So we need additional parking space for faculty and staff to park,” said Barnett.

Claysville School listed for sale

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) - A school that sits on lake-front property on Lake Guntersville is now up for sale. Claysville School was built in 1927 and has a rich history. Over the years, Marshall County Schools Superintendent Dr. Cindy Wigley said the student population has declined. As a result, she said the district is being forced to sell the lakeside property. The cost? $12 million, and it’s already listed.
