Why legal strategy now defines supply chain strength
Article Both the automotive sector and the broader advanced‑manufacturing landscape are facing levels of disruption unseen in decades. Procurement teams sit at the centre of this pressure: they must manage volatile markets, evolving technologies, and tightening regulation, all while ensuring supply continuity and competitiveness. Increasingly, these challenges are not simply operational or commercial – they are legal.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
I was almost hesitant to dive into Tears of the Kingdom. I’ll be quite honest: I hold Breath of the Wild on a bit of a pedestal. As a long-time Zelda fan, it switched up the formula in a way I didn’t know I wanted, and I absolutely adored it. Its release was a formative moment in my life as a Nintendo fan and an impossible to replicate experience. The game’s opening sequence still lives rent-free in my head, and the feeling of exploration that followed has yet to be matched.

Boldr x WatchGecko Polaris
The concept behind the Boldr x WatchGecko Polaris began with aventurine - a naturally occurring form of quartzite flecked with chrome mica, known for its ability to catch light and shimmer like a starlit sky. When used for watch dials, aventurine creates beautiful, almost cosmic patterns, evoking the vast, silent beauty of space - captured and contained on your wrist. Before the invention of GPS or even detailed maps, ancient peoples relied on the stars to navigate.
Combining Semaglutide & Testosterone for Weight Loss
If you’re a man with low testosterone, losing weight can feel like an uphill battle. Your energy is low, your metabolism has slowed, and hitting the gym doesn’t deliver the results it used to. That’s where testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) comes in: Restoring testosterone levels helps build muscle, burn fat, and improve motivation.
4 common roadblocks to developing leaders
Even the best leadership development program does not guarantee success — to the organization or individual participants. There are four common roadblocks that often derail the outcomes: purpose, participant selection, curriculum engagement and accountability. As a result, not all programs will yield better-prepared leaders, nor will the organization have developed people prepared for leadership roles. Let’s take a look at these roadblocks. What is the outcome of the leadership development program?
Redefining Digital Commerce: How AI can Bring Back a Human Connection
Many retailers are struggling to recreate the close human engagement found in bricks-and-mortar stores in their online buying journeys, especially as consumer scepticism towards AI continues to grow. Grow: How Laura Kennedy made more money on Substack than anywhere else
The Grow interview series is designed to share the nuts and bolts of how writers have gone independent and grown their audiences on Substack. It has been lightly edited for length and clarity. We invited , who writes the publication , to share insights on how she moved from Patreon to Substack and went on to earn a steady income that’s more than any newspaper column she’d written, affording her the opportunity to move halfway around the world.
Why I Am Here And Not There
Today I feel more tired of social media than ever before and more thankful for Substack than ever before. Yesterday I deleted my Twitter account, having been briefly drawn back there for the usual reason: the desire to give books I’ve put every ounce of myself into the best chance possible of surviving in the world. But in fact what I repeatedly deduce is that I’d rather sell fewer books than voluntarily drink mind poison. I intend to keep my resolve this time.
The Manor
2020 was the year I moved back to the South West after a brief spell in Norfolk - although to my mind it felt less like moving and and more like running back for forgiveness, as a person might into the arms of a lover whose finer points they had taken for granted. I carried out the move during the height of the first Covid lockdown, half a dozen journeys there and back, across almost the entire width of the country.
The Most Unsettling Walk I've Ever Been On (A Photo Essay)
What is more remarkable: our capacity to forget suffering and darkness, or our capacity to remember it? I’m frequently equally struck by both. But I do know that my memory has a special knack of editing out troubling experiences: a process it does all by itself, without me really noticing. “That was ACTUALLY the worst house move,” I think directly after a house move, probably because I’ve somehow managed to blank out three others that were just as, if not more, traumatic.
Ladybird's Well-Loved Tales Deconstructed
One of the many ways that the internet is cruel and annoying in a “pissing down your back and telling you it’s raining” way is that, at the very same time as ruining people’s attention spans and preventing them from concentrating properly on books, it is constantly reminding us that we are not reading enough and showing us what a vast amount of reading everyone else is getting through.
1983
I’m writing a new novel. It’s very different to my last one, but that tends to be what happens with my books, since I’m restless like that: I have had a habit, both in my recent writing and my recent life, of not staying long in one place. In my previous book, Villager, I was in a fictional moorland village on the UK’s south-west peninsula, living its folklore and landscape and ghosts through the eyes of almost two centuries’ worth of characters, almost all of them human.

Six Tiny Stories About Sheep
(I wrote these over a year ago but most of you probably haven’t seen them.) The Stolen Bike It was after Jesse and I stole the bike that we saw the man and the sheep walking down the lane towards us. 4 Practical Ways to Learn a Language through TV and Movies
Image Source When I first read this suggested topic title I groaned, thinking of those teachers who too easily resort to showing a TV program or movie in class when they just don't want to teach. Yet when I read the piece, it was interesting and informative. Thanks to Tom Cox for the post. – KW People are cooped up at home a whole lot more than usual these days.
Notebook
Synopsis Sure, sex is great, but have you ever cracked open a new notebook and written something on the first page with a really nice pen? The story behind Notebook starts with a minor crime: the theft of Tom Cox's rucksack from a Bristol pub in 2018. In that rucksack was a journal containing ten months worth of notes, one of the many Tom has used to record his thoughts and observations over the past twelve years.
Go Beyond The Language Plateau [6 Methods & Mindsets]
There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. — Bruce Lee Language learning can be one of the most rewarding joys in life. But it can also feel like the complete opposite when you’re stuck in the icy purgatory of a language learning plateau. There are a few common signs of a language plateau.

7 UX research lessons I’ve learned after hundreds of game design playtests
By Tom Cox, UX Designer in training I’ve been a hobby game designer for over 5 years. During that time I have designed and tested dozens of prototypes. This includes hundreds of user testing sessions, both in-person and digitally. There is a lot of overlap between testing a game and conducting user testing. These are 7 things I have learned from testing my own games. After many inconsistent tests I learned how important it is to develop and use a test script.

Redefining What Matters In Streaming TV Advertising
by Tom Cox , 5 minutes ago As we adapt to new ways of working and living, brands can redefine their relationships with their customers by showing humanity and offering support. This is a pivotal moment to re-examine marketing and media plans to emphasize building long-term brand value. As consumers are staying home, TV viewership is up nearly 60%, according to Nielsen. OTT streaming has increased significantly in recent weeks.
Notebook
The story of why I want to write my thirteenth book begins, appropriately enough, with some bad luck: a minor crime in Bristol almost exactly a year ago which was partly about being in the wrong place at the wrong time but for which I also blame myself and Michael Jackson. My bag was stolen from the side of a dancefloor in the room of a pub where my friend was DJing; I say “bag” but that’s a bit flattering to the dust-beaten twenty-year-old rucksack I had with me on the day.

How To Make The Shift From Succession Planning To Succession Readiness
When I speak to business leaders about succession planning, I often receive a glazed-eye response, much like when discussing strategic planning or annual performance reviews. The problem with succession planning, as well as many other necessary business activities, is that it is often viewed as a “have to” rather than a “want to” process. When organizations treat succession as a box to be checked, it is clear the focus is on the process and not the outcome.
Merging: How Traffic Mirrors Organizational Change
There are several points of congestion on the highway that I use to get to work. I was driving to the office recently and it occurred to me that these choke points are representative of how we often respond in business, especially when dealing with new or changing circumstances. The Challenge As I approached one of the problem areas, the traffic inevitably slowed. Part of this was caused by the merging of two thoroughfares that required drivers to slow to allow others to merge and gain speed.
