COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M All-American linebacker Keith Mitchell died at 51, Texas A&M athletics confirmed to KBTX on Thursday. Mitchell was a member of the “Wrecking Crew” defense from 1993-96, including the 1993 Southwest Conference champion squad. He earned All-SWC honors in 1995, followed by an All-Big 12 nod in 1996 to go along with his All-America selection. The Garland native was fourth all-time for career sacks at A&M with 34, including 14.5 during his senior season.

(KBTX) - The Texas A&M baseball team added its second member of the Oklahoma national championship team in Alec Blair, the outfielder confirmed on social media. “Entered late. Committed Earley,” Blair said in the post. The 6-foot-6 rising sophomore slashed .247/.320/.376 last season with a pair of home runs and 18 RBIs. He struck out 32 times and walked 10 in 93 total at-bats. Blair, a left-handed hitter, played in 30 games, starting 24.
