Results As in prior studies,30,31,32,33,34,35,36 we assessed cognitive flexibility using a digging-based “rule-shifting” task adapted from attention set-shifting paradigms37 (see STAR Methods). In each trial, mice choose between two bowls, each containing distinct odor (garlic or coriander) and texture (sand or litter) cues, to locate a hidden food reward.

Abstract Seizures are made up of the coordinated activity of networks of neurons, suggesting that control of neurons in the pathologic circuits of epilepsy could allow for control of the disease. Optogenetics has been effective at stopping seizure-like activity in non-human disease models by increasing inhibitory tone or decreasing excitation, although this effect has not been shown in human brain tissue.
