This study sought to investigate the optimal timing for surgical treatment and to identify factors influencing postoperative mortality.
Mitochondrial immunometabolism in sepsis: bridging immune cell dysfunction and organ failure
Abstract Sepsis, defined as life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection, remains a leading cause of mortality in critical care, and sepsis-associated multiple organ failure continues to defy effective therapy. Increasing evidence positions mitochondria at the interface of cellular bioenergetics and innate immune signaling, making mitochondrial immunometabolism a compelling framework for understanding sepsis pathophysiology.
Tp53/HIF1α co-synergistically promotes CRMP4 expression via promoter-proximal interactions in colorectal cancer
Abstract Tumor protein p53 (p53) plays a dual role in cancer under hypoxia, promoting cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, whereas facilitating survival. P53 can either suppress or cooperate with HIF1α to regulate hypoxia-driven transcription and metabolic adaptation. However, the precise molecular mechanisms by which p53 modulates hypoxia-induced tumor progression and therapy resistance in colorectal cancer remain unclear.

Prediction of aero engine remaining service life using a bidirectional GRU model with self attention mechanism
Abstract The performance and operational lifespan of aircraft engines are critical factors influencing flight safety and economic viability. Traditional methods for predicting aircraft engine service life often overlook microstructural changes, resulting in inaccurate predictions. To address this, a deep learning approach combining the Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (BiGRU) model and self-Attention Mechanism (AM) for more accurate and reliable predictions is proposed.
Thyroid dysfunction and risk of atrial fibrillation in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy: a multicenter cohort study
Abstract Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common and clinically important arrhythmia in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Thyroid dysfunction influences atrial electrophysiology and remodeling; however, its association with AF in HOCM remains poorly defined. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 755 consecutive patients with HOCM (mean age 48.65 ± 14.12 years; 60.0% male) from three tertiary centers (2019–2024).
Machine learning–based risk stratification identifies heart failure with preserved ejection fraction as an independent predictor of adverse outcomes in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is increasingly recognized in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM); however, its prognostic significance, phenotypic heterogeneity, and optimal risk stratification strategies remain incompletely defined. In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, 2802 patients with HCM were enrolled from three tertiary centers.
Zearalenone causes female reproductive lipotoxicity through the ERα-CD36/TLR4 signaling pathway
Abstract Exposure to zearalenone (ZEN), an estrogen-like mycotoxin produced by Fusarium fungi, impairs reproductive performance and farm-animal welfare; however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Using female pigs as the large animal model, we demonstrate that ZEN-induced reproductive lipotoxicity is associated with alterations in estrogen receptor-alpha (ERα) expression, diacylglycerol levels, and pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
Antioxidant activity and off-flavor reduction in soy-based high-protein, low-carb spherical snacks
Abstract Excessive intake of sugar-rich foods is often responsible for diabetes and obesity. Recently, we developed soy-protein based high-protein, low-sugar snacks. Hemp protein and canola oil can be used as additional ingredients. In this research, the total polyphenol content, fatty acid composition, and antioxidant capacity of the snacks were investigated.
Calibrating deep classifiers with dynamic confidence propagation and adaptive normalization
Abstract Although deep neural networks have made significant progress in confidence calibration, conventional methods like temperature scaling and histogram binning face notable limitations in dynamic open-world scenarios due to their reliance on global static parameters or idealized data distribution assumptions. To address these challenges, we propose a Dynamic Confidence Propagation and Alternating Normalization (DCP-AN) framework.
