A single-cell RNA sequencing dataset of kidney and peripheral blood mononuclear cells from Dahl salt-sensitive rats under high and low salt diets
Abstract Hypertension is a major global health burden, with high dietary sodium intake being a key environmental risk factor. The Dahl salt-sensitive (SS) rat is a well-established model for studying salt-sensitive hypertension and renal damage. To facilitate research into the cellular mechanisms of salt-sensitivity, we generated a single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) dataset from the kidney and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of Dahl SS rats.
Structural and functional insights into QueC-family protein in QatABCD anti-phage system
Abstract QatABCD is a widespread prokaryotic anti-phage defense system comprising four protein components, out of which QatC, a QueC-family protein is the signature component. QueC family proteins are nucleoside biosynthesis enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of queuosine, a 7-deazaguanine derivative. Recently, QueC-family proteins were shown to catalyze a deazaguanylation protein-nucleobase conjugation reaction in type IV CBASS antiphage defense.

However, the effectiveness and scalability of prevailing PV waste management approaches remain unclear owing to considerable heterogeneity across regions and over time. Here we develop a comprehensive framework to evaluate the economic and climate benefits of local versus outsourced recycling, covering mainstream technologies.
Signaling pathways and ion channels in osteoarthritis: a review of recent advances
Abstract The understanding of osteoarthritis (OA) has gradually evolved from the traditional perspective of it being a mere “wear-and-tear” joint disease to a more comprehensive view that characterizes it as a degenerative joint disease marked by chronic low-grade inflammation and immune imbalance. The progression of OA is closely linked to abnormal mechanical loading and the activation of the innate immune system.
Identification and validation of NCOA5-ZCCHC3/FGF22 axis as a prognostic marker in lung adenocarcinoma migration and invasion
Abstract Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), the most common subtype of lung cancer, is associated with substantial global mortality. Nuclear receptor coactivator 5 (NCOA5) has been implicated in several malignancies; however, its functional role and regulatory mechanisms in LUAD remain largely unknown. In this study, NCOA5 expression was evaluated in 94 paired LUAD and adjacent tissues using immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, and Western blotting.

HMGCR-Driven Cholesterol Metabolism Promotes Osteoarthritis Progression by Accelerating Synovial Fibroblast Senescence
1 Introduction Osteoarthritis (OA) is a highly prevalent degenerative disease, characterized by progressive cartilage degradation, subchondral bone sclerosis, and chronic synovitis [1, 2]. The synovium is a thin membrane that lines the surfaces of structures within the joint. The synovial tissue contains a variety of cell types, including fibroblasts (FLSs), macrophages, mast cells, adipocytes, and endothelial cells [3].
The OsMYB4 transcription factor enables coordinated improvement of grain yield and quality in rice
Abstract The endosperm is the predominant storage organ for starch and storage proteins in cereal grains, which also determines both grain yield and quality. Although key enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of starch and storage proteins have been identified, the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain largely obscure. In this study, we identified OsMYB4, a MYB transcription factor, specifically expressed in rice (Oryza sativa L.) endosperm.
Improvement of the tensile strength of carbon nanotube fibers to 12.5 GPa by fluidics-induced alignment and densification
Abstract Achieving the superior tensile strength of individual carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in macroscopic fibers depends on how CNTs are assembled. This study reports a fluidics approach: spraying high-velocity ethanol to scour and shrink pre-made CNT fibers.

Potential role of a CRISPR-Cas-activated toxin-antitoxin system in bacterial immunity
Abstract CRISPR-Cas and toxin-antitoxin systems can serve as antiviral defense mechanisms in prokaryotes. In typical toxin-antitoxin systems, toxin activation can limit phage propagation by inducing growth arrest or reduced cellular fitness, while the antitoxin neutralizes toxin activity. Here, we study potential functional synergy between a CRISPR-Cas13a system and a type II toxin-antitoxin module (HicAB) from a Leptotrichia bacterium, when heterologously expressed in E.
Development, validation, and cost-effectiveness analysis of an AI-assisted three-tiered glaucoma screening model in a community-based setting: protocol for a cluster randomized controlled trial
Abstract Introduction: Glaucoma is the leading irreversible blinding eye disease worldwide and the global prevalence of glaucoma for individuals aged 40–80 years is estimated as 3.54%. Early screening and prevention wherever possible are essential interventions of chronic disease management for glaucoma, but there is currently a lack of a recognized glaucoma screening model for Chinese population.

Rabbit VX₂ liver tumor models were randomly divided into four groups: control, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC), conventional TACE (C-TACE) with lipiodol, and experimental TACE (T-TACE) with TempSLE.
3D-printed multiscale-ordered hierarchical frameworks for rapid atmospheric water harvesting
Abstract Freshwater scarcity poses an escalating threat to global sustainability, yet sorption-based atmospheric water harvesting offers a compelling solution by extracting moisture directly from air, independent of geographic constraints. A critical bottleneck limiting sorption-based atmospheric water-harvesting capacity, however, remains the sluggish kinetics of sorption–desorption cycling.
Physiology-guided volume optimization in patients with acute exacerbations of heart failure complicated by various comorbidities: two case reports
Abstract Background: Traditional volume management for acute decompensated heart failure emphasizes strict fluid restriction. However, this may be harmful in patients with relative hypovolemia (e.g., poor intake or sepsis). We report two cases managed with a physiology-guided, individualized maintenance fluid strategy (avoiding routine restriction) and present them as hypothesis-generating observations.

Abstract Objectives: To develop and validate radiomics and deep learning models based on the hepatobiliary phase (HBP) of gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI (EOB-MRI) for the noninvasive prediction of treatment response and prognosis following transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Dynamic recruitment of CaMKII into SHANK3 phase-separated condensates tunes postsynaptic density remodeling during long-term potentiation
Abstract Activity-dependent postsynaptic density (PSD) remodeling orchestrates α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptor (AMPAR) trafficking during long-term potentiation (LTP), yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we demonstrate that SHANK3 critically mediates the rapid recruitment of Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) to PSD and the ensuing PSD remodeling through liquid‒liquid phase separation (LLPS).

Nuclear hexokinase 2 couples hyperglycemia to MYC-driven glycolytic and stemness programs in bladder cancer
Abstract Hyperglycemia is common in patients with bladder cancer and has been implicated in disease progression, yet the molecular link between a high-glucose milieu and tumor aggressiveness remains poorly defined. Here we identify a noncanonical, nuclear role of hexokinase 2 (HK2) that couples systemic hyperglycemia to MYC-driven glycolysis and stemness in bladder cancer.
A single-atom potential confinement strategy for stabilizing rhodium nanocatalysts in methane oxidation
Abstract Operating nanometal catalysts under harsh reaction conditions often leads to their disintegration into less active single atoms or clusters, which is considered as a primary cause of catalyst deactivation and loss of active components. In the current work, our theoretical calculations on CeO₂-supported Rh catalysts first reveal that pre-filling surface vacancies with suitable single metal atoms renders the subsequent anchoring of Rh atoms on supports energetically unfavorable.
