Efficient expansion of XCR1 + CD141 + cDC1 cells from human PBMCs: a promising strategy for DC-based vaccine
Abstract Introduction: Dendritic cells (DCs) are pivotal orchestrators of immune activation, serving as professional antigen-presenting cells that bridge innate and adaptive immunity. Among them, conventional type 1 dendritic cells (cDC1s) play a critical role in initiating cytotoxic T-cell responses and anti-tumor immunity. Despite their therapeutic promise, the clinical translation of cDC1-based vaccines has been limited by challenges in large-scale in vitro generation.

Dyscoordination of thalamic reticular spindles is associated with social memory deficits in mice and humans with autism spectrum disorder
Abstract Social memory, the ability to recognize and remember conspecifics, is frequently impaired in psychiatric disorders such as autism, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We examined the role of sleep spindles across non-rapid eye movement sleep in social memory consolidation, focusing on the sensory thalamic reticular nucleus (sTRN). Here we show that impaired spindles were associated with defective social memory.
Effects of Intercropping Morel Mushrooms between Apple Tree Rows on Soil Properties and Tree Performance
You are already at the latest version To investigate the effects of intercropping Morchella (morel mushrooms) between apple tree rows on fruit quality and orchard soil properties, a field experiment was conducted using a cultivation system combining plastic film mulching with small arched tunnels. Morchella was planted in the interrows of five-year-old apple trees, and after harvest, the spent mushroom substrate was returned to the soil via rotary tillage.
Patient experiences and perceptions of occupational therapy services in Chinese rehabilitation: a qualitative study
Abstract Patient satisfaction is a critical determinant of rehabilitation outcomes in occupational therapy (OT). In non-Western contexts such as China, cultural norms including high power distance may profoundly shape the therapeutic relationship and patient experience. Few qualitative studies have explored the lived experiences of Chinese rehabilitation patients regarding OT services.

Abstract Periodontitis is the leading cause of tooth loss, with alveolar bone resorption serving as its fundamental pathological feature. Identifying key regulatory genes and molecular mechanisms is essential for enhancing preventive and therapeutic strategies. Nevertheless, reliable biomarkers and comprehensive regulatory networks have yet to be elucidated.
Cryo-EM structures of bacteriophage T4 portal-neck assembly intermediates reveal a viral genome retention mechanism - Nature Communications
Abstract Bacteriophage T4 has long served as an extraordinary model for tailed phages. During virion assembly, the viral DNA genome is tightly packed into the head, to which tail attaches via a portal-neck connector. Keeping this highly pressurized head leak-proof during these transactions is a challenge, yet the mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here we show that T4 seals its DNA-filled capsid using a double “genome-gate” mechanism.
Tau pathology reprograms glucose metabolism to support cortical hyperexcitability, excitatory/inhibitory imbalance, and sleep loss - npj Dementia
Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is not only defined by amyloid-β and tau pathology but by early metabolic disruptions and hyperexcitability. How tau independently reshapes the coupling of metabolism-excitability to impact processes like sleep remains unclear. Here, hyperphosphorylated tau preserves whole-body metabolic function while driving cortical hyperexcitability and sleep loss in mouse models of tauopathy.
Climate and traits drive bark decomposition patterns at global scale - Nature Communications
Abstract Tree bark represents a large global carbon stock, comprising 2-20 % of woody biomass, and plays a distinct role in carbon and nutrient cycling. It is poorly understood how different abiotic and biotic drivers contribute to bark decomposition globally, or how these relationships play out in a changing climate.

Microbial Diversity and Changes in Flavor Compounds During the Fermentation of Vegetables: A Review
1 Introduction Vegetables are a rich source of essential nutrients, including vitamins and antioxidants that are crucial for human health (Shahbazi et al. 2021). However, due to their perishable nature, vegetables require proper preservation methods to prolong their shelf life (Guerra et al. 2022; Lu et al. 2022). Fermentation, one of the oldest and most economical food preservation technologies, not only prolongs shelf life but also enhances the sensory properties of food products.

Beyond the Rankings: Identifying Consistency in CSR Excellence
Abstract Today, organizations are subjected to an increasing number of CSR ratings and rankings. As stakeholder expectations evolve over time, CSR rating agencies frequently update their evaluation methodologies to reflect changes in the CSR landscape. This makes it increasingly challenging for firms to maintain a consistent rating or secure a stable position in CSR rankings.
Moderating Role of National CSR Ratings: Empirical Evidence on the Relationship Between CSR Disclosure and Firm Risk
Abstract The growing importance of CSR has fueled extensive research on its link to firm risk, yet little attention has been given to how home-country CSR ratings shape this relationship, particularly for foreign firms listed on U.S. exchanges. This study examines the moderating effect of national CSR ratings in the relationship between firm CSR disclosure and risk.

Psychedelic 5-HT 2A receptor agonism alters neurovascular coupling and differentially affects neuronal and hemodynamic measures of brain function
Abstract Human neuroimaging studies report that psychedelics induce serotonin-2A receptor-dependent changes in functional brain reorganization, presumably reflecting neuromodulation. However, these studies often overlook the potent vasoactive effects of serotonin. Here we identified psilocybin-induced alterations in hemodynamic response functions during human functional magnetic resonance imaging, suggesting potential disruptions in neurovascular coupling.

In situ formed colloidal manganese dioxide enhances permanganate oxidation for sulfide control in sewers
Sulfate contained in sewage is reduced to sulfide by sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) under anaerobic conditions. Sulfide is released from sewers into the environment in the form of gaseous hydrogen sulfide (H2S) causing an odor nuisance, and sulfide is oxidized to sulfuric acid (H2SO4) causing corrosion of pipes [1], [2]. The repair of pipelines has resulted in substantial economic losses for many countries.

Enhancing CO2 electroreduction to formate on bismuth catalyst via sulfur doping
The electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2 RR) is a promising method to achieve an anthropogenic carbon cycle, enabling effective storage and utilization of intermittent electricity sources such as wind and solar power [1], [2]. Based on the current techno-economic assessments, formic acid is an appealing product of this process due to its advantageous characteristics, such as high energy density, convenient storage and transport [3], [4], [5].
Psychedelic 5-HT2A receptor agonism: neuronal signatures and altered neurovascular coupling.
Abstract Psychedelics hold therapeutic promise for mood disorders due to rapid, sustained results. Human neuroimaging studies have reported dramatic serotonin-2A receptor-(5-HT2AR)-dependent changes in functional brain reorganization that presumably reflect neuromodulation. However, the potent vasoactive effects of serotonin have been overlooked. We found psilocybin-mediated alterations to fMRI-HRFs in humans, suggesting potentially altered NVC.

Metabolic growth mechanisms and theoretical growth potential of global woody plant communities
Abstract Predicting the growth and maximum biomass (Mmax) of woody plant communities (WPC) is challenging due to the complexity and variability of tree growth. While Metabolic Scaling Theory (MST) offers a promising concept, its current theoretical framework is still insufficient. Here, we applied MST principles and our previous findings to propose an iterative growth model for forest growth (IGMF).

A conserved oomycete effector RxLR23 triggers plant defense responses by targeting ERD15La to release NbNAC68 - Nature Communications
Abstract Oomycete pathogens deliver many effectors to enhance virulence or suppress plant immunity. Plant immune networks are interconnected, in which a few effectors can trigger a strong defense response when recognized by immunity-related proteins. How effectors activate plant defense response remains poorly understood. Here we report Phytophthora capsici effector RxLR23KM can induce plant cell death and plant immunity.
The effect of optical-acoustic phonon coupling on the thermal conductivity of 2D MgI2
The effect of optical-acoustic phonon coupling on the thermal conductivity of 2D MgI2 2D MgI2 has a large phonon band gap and strong coupling of optical and acoustic phonons, and it is difficult to accurately predict thermal conductivity by considering only three-phonon scattering. Thus, in this study, the effect of four-phonon scattering on the thermal conductivity of a 2D MgI2 lattice was investigated using first-principles calculations combined with Boltzmann transport theory.
Self-powered Solar-blind Ultraviolet-Visible Cu2O/Ga2O3 Photodetectors
Self-powered Solar-blind Ultraviolet-Visible Cu2O/Ga2O3 Photodetectors The traditional optical communication using single narrow-band photodetectors (PDs) has poor confidentiality because all information and data are exposed to free space. With the development of science and technology, even the optical communication in the Solar-blind ultraviolet (UV) band has the risk of eavesdropping.

Structure and cathodoluminescence properties in Tb3+ and Eu3+ doped AlN films
For the first time, Tb3+ and Eu3+ co-doped AlN films were prepared using ion implantation, and the crystal structure and cathodoluminescence properties of films were investigated. Raman scattering and X-ray diffraction show that high-dose Tb3+ implantation leads to an increase in internal compressive stress. The nonradiative resonant energy transfer was suggested between the Tb3+ and defects in the AlN host. The energy transfer mechanism between Tb3+ and Eu3+ in AlN films was dicussed.
Arousal as a universal embedding for spatiotemporal brain dynamics
Abstract Neural activity in awake organisms shows widespread and spatiotemporally diverse correlations with behavioral and physiological measurements. We propose that this covariation reflects in part the dynamics of a unified, arousal-related process that regulates brain-wide physiology on the timescale of seconds.
