Bone marrow stromal cells promote chemoresistance in acute myeloid leukaemia through P2RX7-mediated antioxidant defence
Abstract Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) remains a therapeutically challenging malignancy owing to its high relapse rates and chemoresistance, often linked to elevated antioxidant defences. Here, we demonstrate that bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) confer chemoresistance in AML by upregulating the purinergic receptor P2RX7. Blocking P2RX7 restored chemosensitivity of AML cells.
A transmembrane protein confers the Yr26 / Yr24 / YrCH42 / YrG22 -mediated stripe rust resistance in wheat
|
Abstract Stripe or yellow rust (YR), caused by Puccinia striiformis Westend. f. sp. tritici (Pst), is a devastating fungal disease of wheat. Here, we report the map-based cloning of Yr26 (synonyms: Yr24, YrCH42, and YrG22), a major stripe rust resistance gene, and its validation by gene silencing, mutation analysis and transgenic complementation. Yr26, which firstly arises in emmer wheat and recently has introgressed into bread wheat, is a newly evolved gene encoding a transmembrane protein.

Pareto front engineering of dynamical sweet spots in superconducting qubits
Abstract Operating superconducting qubits at dynamical sweet spots (DSSs) suppresses decoherence from low-frequency flux noise. A key open question is how long coherence can be extended under this strategy and what fundamental limits constrain it. Here we introduce a fully parameterized, multi-objective periodic-flux modulation framework that simultaneously optimizes energy relaxation T1 and pure dephasing Tϕ, thereby quantifying the tradeoff between them.
Renal resistive index-guided mean arterial pressure titration in sepsis: a prospective single-center, single-blind, parallel-group randomized controlled trial
Abstract In sepsis, optimizing mean arterial pressure (MAP) for organ perfusion remains challenging. We conduct a single-center, single-blind, parallel-group randomized controlled trial enrolling 274 sepsis patients to evaluate whether renal resistive index (RRI)-guided MAP titration (MAP titration group, MTG) reduces 28-day all-cause mortality (primary endpoint) compared with conventional treatment (conventional treatment group, CTG).

RNA reinforces condensate nucleation on chromatin to amplify oncogenic transcription
Protein purification For full-length ENL protein purification, N-terminal 2 X streptavidin tags and C-terminal 6 X histidine tags were added to the pET28b expression vector containing the ENL-WT CDS (residues 1-559; NP_005925.2). The T1 mutation (p. 117_118insNHL) and RNA-binding residue mutations (K61A, R63A, and K67A) were subsequently added. Proteins were expressed in BL21(DE3) E. coli cells induced with 0.4mM IPTG (Isopropyl β-D-thiogalactopyranoside) for 16 h at 16°C.
Health-related quality of life and its determinants in children with allergic rhinitis
Abstract Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is highly prevalent in school-aged children and can substantially impair health-related quality of life (HRQoL). The modifiable determinants of HRQoL in this population remain incompletely understood. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 110 children aged 6–12 years with physician-diagnosed AR and 110 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were enrolled from a tertiary hospital (January–December 2023).
Temporal-Spatial Fusion Vision Hardware Enables Streamlined In-Sensor Computing for Dynamic Scenes
Abstract Time and space constitute fundamental dimensions of physical reality, making their integrated processing crucial for advanced vision perception systems. Current visual information processing faces dual limitations: von Neumann architecture-induced data-transfer bottlenecks and spatial-feature processing often disregard temporal dynamics, while temporal analyzers oversimplify spatial complexity.
Risk factors for diabetic at-risk foot disease among the diabetes over 60 years old: a cross-sectional study
Abstract Background: Most studies related to at-risk foot are based on databases, cohorts, hospitalized patients, or outpatient studies, lacking comprehensive data on risk factors. According to the latest Diabetic foot risk stratification system, there is currently a lack of research or descriptions of the diabetic at-risk foot population.
Enhancing the reachability of variational quantum algorithms via input-state design
Abstract Variational quantum algorithms (VQAs) are constrained by a trade-off: deeper circuits can cover a larger reachable quantum states but suffer from barren plateaus, while shallow circuits remain trainable yet can have insufficient reachability to the target state. Here, we propose a general framework to address this challenge by enhancing the VQA performance with a designed input state constructed using a linear combination technique.

Mechanical Metamaterial With Shape-Encoded Reprogrammable Properties
1 Introduction Across both living and nonliving systems, shape acts as a fundamental blueprint that encodes their properties and functions. Shape morphing is essential for natural organisms to survive in rapidly changing environments. For instance, amoebas can transform into highly adaptable configurations under extreme perturbations to alleviate severe stress concentrations and prevent life-threatening consequences [1-4].
Case Report: Rapid progression of inflammation-driven coronary artery lesions in a normolipidemic patient with ANCA-associated vasculitis complicated by Stanford type A aortic dissection
Abstract Background: Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a systemic autoimmune small- to medium-vessel vasculitis. Reports of rapidly progressive left main/left anterior descending (LM/LAD) disease under normolipidemic conditions with parallel coronary–aortic progression are scarce.
Visualizing carrier dynamics of a semiconductor film photodetector optimized by interface passivation
To enhance photodetector performance, transient absorption (TA) microscopy is employed for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, to investigate carrier diffusion in interface-passivated semiconductor polycrystalline films. TA analysis reveals that after passivation with DMMI-Cl, the carrier diffusion length in MASnBr3 polycrystalline films increases from 109 nm to 123 nm, while the diffusion coefficient improves from 0.119 cm2 s−1 to 0.151 cm2 s−1.
Marrow leptin-LEPR signaling rewires mitochondrial oxidative metabolism to confer chemoresistance in acute myeloid leukemia - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Leptin is abundant within marrow adipose tissue, yet its impact on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) therapy response is undefined. Here, we report that elevated bone-marrow leptin and blast-cell leptin-receptor (LEPR) levels strongly associate with poor cytarabine (Ara-C) clearance and reduced survival in newly diagnosed AML patients.
Effects of block and institutional ownership on stock sentiment sensitivity in China
This study investigates the impact of blockholder and institutional ownership on stock sentiment sensitivity in China. Results show that blockholder ownership makes stock prices less susceptible to fluctuating market sentiment, while institutional ownership has the opposite effect. This contrast in effects is caused by performance pressure faced by mutual funds, the majority of institutional investors.

Dopant‐Regulated Piezocatalysts Evoke Sonopiezoelectric and Enzymatic PANoptosis for Synergistic Cancer Therapy
1 Introduction Piezoelectric nanomaterials have attracted growing attention in a wide range of biomedical applications due to their unique ability to convert mechanical energy into electric energy.[1-9] Ultrasound (US) can serve as a remotely controlled mechanical trigger to induce self-polarization and the formation of a built-in electrical field in piezoelectric nanocatalysts. Such a sonopiezoelectric process consistently separates electrons and holes, initiating surface redox reactions.

Enhancing Gene Set Overrepresentation Analysis with Large Language Models
Abstract Gene set overrepresentation analysis is widely used to interpret high-throughput transcriptomics and proteomics data, but traditional methods rely on static, human-curated gene set databases that lack flexibility. We introduce llm2geneset, a framework that leverages large language models (LLMs) to dynamically generate gene set databases tailored to input query genes, such as differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and a biological context specified in natural language.
