The C-reactive protein–albumin–lymphocyte index is associated with ventricular functional improvement and long-term outcomes after cardiac resynchronization therapy
Abstract Background and aims: Inflammation, malnutrition, and immune dysfunction are closely linked to adverse outcomes in heart failure. The C-reactive protein–albumin–lymphocyte (CALLY) index integrates these biological domains, but its clinical relevance in patients undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) remains insufficiently characterized.
KRAS/ERK2-driven stabilization of AARS1 reprograms tumor metabolism and confers Sorafenib resistance in lung adenocarcinoma
Abstract KRAS is the most frequently mutated oncogene in human cancers, and its G12C variant is highly prevalent in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and predicts poor clinical outcomes. However, the metabolic mechanisms underlying KRAS-driven malignancy and therapeutic resistance remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify alanyl-tRNA synthetase 1 (AARS1) as a previously unrecognized metabolic effector of KRAS signaling.

A potassium-based single-atom catalyst enables acute lung injury immunotherapy in mice by inhibiting macrophage pyroptosis
|
Abstract Acute lung injury (ALI), which can have a mortality rate approaching 40%, lacks effective therapies. Macrophage pyroptosis represents a pro-inflammatory event and a potential therapeutic target. Here, we report a single-atom immunomodulator, a potassium-based single-atom catalyst (K-SAC) with K–N4 sites, that suppresses macrophage pyroptosis for ALI therapy through antioxidant catalysis.

Do green institutional investors promote environmental responsibility? Evidence from China’s manufacturing sector
Abstract This study investigates whether green institutional investors on corporate environmental responsibility (CER) in Chinese manufacturing firms and explores the underlying mechanisms driving this relationship. In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the presence of institutional investors committed to carbon reduction, pollution mitigation, and sustainable practices.
Clinicopathological and molecular characteristics of primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma: a case report and systematic review
Abstract Primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma (PPC) is an exceptionally rare and aggressive non-gestational trophoblastic malignancy for which no standard treatment has been established. We report a 61-year-old man with PPC and brain metastases who received intracranial radiotherapy and first-line albumin-bound paclitaxel plus cisplatin, followed by etoposide, capecitabine, and camrelizumab after disease progression.

Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! In this work, we present a near-infrared (NIR) phospha-rhodamine dye POR-1, featuring a thiomorpholine 1,1-dioxide auxochrome and a carboxyl handle for constructing dye–antibody conjugates for tumor imaging. The unique auxochrome endows the dye not only with markedly improved quantum yields due to the strong inhibition of nonradiative decay, but also with high hydrophilicity without introduction of the multiple charged groups.

A multicenter randomized clinical trial of portable transcranial alternating current stimulation for major depressive disorder
Abstract High-definition transcranial alternating current stimulation (HD-tACS) is an emerging neuromodulatory intervention for major depressive disorder (MDD). Here, we evaluate the efficacy and safety of a portable, low-intensity (1.6 mA), 10 Hz HD-tACS protocol targeting the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) in adults with MDD. This randomized clinical trial was conducted including 120 adult MDD participants.

Deep Brain Stimulation Induces Antidepressant Effects by Restoring High-Fidelity Communication in the BNST-NAc Circuit
1 Introduction Approximately 30% of patients with depression do not respond adequately to standard treatment protocols and are classified as having treatment-resistant depression (TRD). TRD is defined as the failure to achieve sufficient clinical improvement after trials of at least two antidepressant medications of adequate dose and duration within a single depressive episode. This patient population persistently faces functional impairment, reduced quality of life, and increased risk of suicide.

Synthesis of Carboline Derivatives Using Domino Annulation Strategies
1 Introduction Carbolines are a very important class of polycyclic indole derivatives widely exist in natural products,[1, 2–3] synthetic medicines,[4-7–8] agrochemicals,[9,10] and functional materials[11-13–14] (Figure 1).
Synthesis of Carboline Derivatives Using Domino Annulation Strategies
Carbolines represent a class of privileged heterocyclic scaffolds that widely exist in natural products, pharmaceutical agents, agrochemicals, and functional materials. Despite their importance, the development of facile and efficient methods for synthesizing carboline derivatives remains a pivotal challenge in modern organic synthesis and heterocyclic chemistry. Domino annulation has evolved as a powerful strategy enabling convenient assembly of diverse heterocyclic molecules.
Prefrontal–bed nucleus of the stria terminalis physiological and neuropsychological biomarkers predict therapeutic outcomes in depression - Nature Communications
Abstract Therapeutic options for refractory depression are urgently needed. We conducted a deep brain stimulation (DBS) randomized controlled trial of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST), an extended amygdala structure, and nucleus accumbens (NAc) in 26 refractory depression patients to assess treatment efficacy and predictors of response. BNST-NAc DBS had a 50% depression response rate and 35% remission rate in the open-label phase.

Ultrasound‐Assisted Microcontinuous Process Facilitates the Selective Deuteration of Steroid Hormones
1 Introduction As an important secretion of the human body, steroid hormones have significant medicinal value [1]. They have a clear role in maintaining life, regulating sexual function, immune regulation, and skin disease treatment [2-4]. For example, progesterone, 17α-hydroxyprogesterone, hydrocortisone, androstenedione, testosterone, and dehydroepiandrosterone are important steroid hormones in the human body, and they are commonly used as indicators in medical diagnosis analysis.
An optimised variational mode decomposition method based on improved coati optimisation algorithm for blockage detection of natural gas pipelines
ABSTRACT Enhanced blockage detection is imperative for ensuring the safe operation of natural gas pipelines, as blockages can result in serious accidents. In recent years, the negative pressure wave method has emerged as one of the most widely utilised techniques for detecting blockages. This study aims to apply variational mode decomposition (VMD) to reduce noise in transient signals from natural gas pipelines, thereby enhancing detection accuracy.

Ulcerative colitis (UC), a prevalent form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), is characterized by the presence of chronic, nonspecific, and recurring inflammation in the intestine [1]. Symptoms and manifestations of the disease vary according to its stage, with remission often presenting no discernible symptoms, while exacerbation may manifest as gastrointestinal symptoms and signs, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and mucopurulent bloody stool.
Delineation of Single-cell Altas Provides New Insights for Development of Coronary Artery Lesions in Kawasaki Disease: Bad and Good Signaling Molecules
Abstract Background: Kawasaki Disease (KD) is a vasculitis syndrome featured with a high and persistent fever and mainly affects children under 5 years of age. It is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in the form of coronary artery lesions (CALs) for children in developed countries. Most KD can be relieved with the high-dosage Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy, but a small proportion develop CALs after IVIG treatment.
