Cytokine-augmented risk stratification for six-month incident nephritis in children with IgA vasculitis
Abstract Background: Children with IgA vasculitis (IgAV) may develop nephritis after initially presenting without kidney involvement. We evaluated whether a cytokine augmentation score (CAS) was associated with improved six-month incident nephritis risk stratification beyond clinical variables and routine inflammatory markers.

Early Detection of Volatile Biomarkers in Wheat Grain Induced by Sitophilus oryzae Using Static Headspace Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry
Abstract The rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.), is one of the most destructive pests of stored cereals, responsible for substantial qualitative and quantitative losses during wheat storage. Early detection is important in reducing grain losses. This study used static headspace – gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-GC-MS) to examine changes in volatile compounds between uninfested and S. oryzae-infested wheat grain under different insect densities.
Experimental astrochemistry and machine learning unravel the formation of oxygen-bearing organic molecules in extraterrestrial ices
Abstract Oxygen-bearing organic molecules, including aldehydes, alcohols, and peroxides, serve as key precursors to complex organics in extraterrestrial environments. Their non-equilibrium formation mechanisms critically constrain the molecular complexity available for prebiotic chemistry.
Age-dependent association of the METTL23 c.84+60delAT variant with normal-tension glaucoma
Abstract Normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) is an age-related cause of irreversible vision loss, yet the contribution of genetic variants to susceptibility across the lifespan remains unclear. The splice-site variant METTL23 c.84+60delAT (delAT), which induces aberrant exon skipping, has been implicated in NTG.
Physical property evolution and damage characterisation of rocks in cold regions under freeze-thaw cycles
Abstract Freeze-thaw damage of rock slopes in open-pit mines in cold regions is a critical factor affecting slope stability. This study presents a novel multi-parameter integration framework for freeze-thaw damage characterisation that addresses fundamental limitations of conventional single-parameter approaches.
Impact of Adverse Pregnancy History and Demographics on Antenatal Mental Health: A Cross-Sectional Study of 897 Women
Abstract Background Common mental health disorders among pregnant women—including anxiety, insomnia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—significantly impair maternal well-being, quality of life, and pregnancy outcomes. Objective This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and influencing factors (specifically adverse pregnancy history and demographics) of anxiety, insomnia, and PTSD to inform targeted interventions.
De novo and inherited dominant variants in U4 and U6 snRNA genes cause retinitis pigmentosa
|
Abstract Small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) combine with specific proteins to generate small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), the building blocks of the spliceosome. U4 snRNA forms a duplex with U6 and, together with U5, contributes to the tri-snRNP spliceosomal complex. Variants in RNU4-2, which encodes U4, have recently been implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders.

Correction to “A Colon-Targeted Oral Nanosystem Disrupts the Inflammatory Loop in Enteric Glia to Alleviate Ulcerative Colitis”
In our original paper, one of the authors’ names, Xinmin Ding, was mistakenly spelled as Xinming Ding. Also, Figure 3 was inadvertently duplicated with Figure 2 during the proof process. The correct Figure 3 is displayed below. This correction does not affect the main conclusions of the paper. Figure 3 Figure 3. The impact of adverse pregnancy history on the psychological status of
Introduction Anxiety, insomnia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are highly prevalent and often co-occurring mental health challenges during pregnancy, particularly among women with a history of adverse pregnancy outcomes or complications.1,2 Recent literature (2023–2024) has further solidified this association. For instance, Kulshreshtha et al (2023)3 highlighted the unique “mental anguish” and heightened anxiety observed in “rainbow pregnancies” following prior loss.

Methanetetrol and the final frontier in ortho acids - Nature Communications
Abstract The rapid dissociation of methanetetrol (C(OH)4) has been suggested as an impediment to its observation, despite the stability of its substituted derivative orthocarbonates (C(OR)4). Here, the tunability of synchrotron-generated vacuum ultraviolet light and the sensitivity of photoionization are exploited to probe the exotic chemistry of the interstellar medium toward the discovery of this molecule.

Reaction-induced dynamic evolution of PtIn/SiO2 catalyst for propane dehydrogenation - Nature Communications
Abstract Understanding the dynamic evolution of heterogeneous catalysts is crucial yet challenging for elucidating the structure-performance relationships and enabling rational catalyst design. Herein, we reveal that PtIn alloy clusters gradually evolve into Pt3In intermetallic in response to propylene, the product of propane dehydrogenation (PDH) reaction.

Clonal Hematopoiesis of Indeterminate Potential Is Associated With Reduced Risk of Cognitive Impairment in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease
Introduction: Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and dementia disproportionately burden patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The association between CHIP and cognitive impairment in CKD patients is unknown. Methods: We conducted time-to-event analyses in up to 1452 older adults with CKD from the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort who underwent CHIP gene sequencing. Cognition was assessed using four validated tests in up to 6 years mean follow-up time.

Recent Progress on the Involvement of Formaldehyde in the Methanol‐to‐Hydrocarbons Reaction
The conversion of methanol-to-hydrocarbons (MTH) over zeolite catalysts has been the subject of intense research since its discovery. Great effort has been devoted to the investigation of four key topics: the initiation of C-C bonds, the establishment of hydrocarbon pool (HCP), the adjustment of product selectivity, and the deactivation process of catalysts. Despite 50 years of study, some mechanisms remain controversial.

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of New Dihydrofuro[3,2-b]piperidine Derivatives as Potent α-Glucosidase Inhibitors
1. Introduction Approximately 422 million people suffer from diabetes worldwide [1], more than 95% of which are type 2 diabetes [2]. It is currently clear that aggressive control of hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes can attenuate the development of chronic complications such as nephropathy and retinopathy [3,4]. To date, suppressing hyperglycemia is one of the effective approaches for the therapy of type 2 diabetes, which includes reducing gut glucose absorption [5,6,7].
