Peripheral somatostatin-expressing neurons are analgesic targets for refractory occipital neuralgia
Abstract Occipital neuralgia (ON) is a refractory chronic headache disorder characterized by paroxysmal shooting or stabbing pain in the posterior scalp, innervated by occipital nerves that originate from C2 and C3 dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons. Limited access to human DRG samples has impeded the understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms and the development of effective treatments for ON.
A novel high-sensitivity triaxial accelerometer based on 3-D phononic crystals
Abstract High-sensitivity triaxial acceleration sensing is widely applied from consumer electronics to inertial navigation. However, Conventional triaxial accelerometers are mainly rely on assembling multiple single-axis transducers, which increases device size and complexity. The acceleration-sensing mechanism of phononic crystals (PnCs) has demonstrated significant potential for high-sensitivity detection, owing to the high-quality factor of their resonant cavities.

Excitatory paraventricular thalamus–posterior insular cortex circuit mediates pain–anxiety comorbidity in diabetic neuropathy
Abstract Painful diabetic neuropathy (PDN) is frequently accompanied by anxiety, yet the neural circuit mechanisms associated with nociceptive hypersensitivity to affective dysfunction remain unclear. Here we combined brain-wide c-Fos mapping, viral tracing, in vivo fiber photometry, whole-cell recordings, and projection-specific opto/chemogenetics in a mouse model of streptozotocin-induced PDN to define a thalamo–cortex circuit for pain–anxiety comorbidity.
CircFN1 modulates IL-1β-induced osteoarthritis through the miR-19b-3p/PTEN signaling axis
Abstract Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease marked by cartilage breakdown, chondrocyte apoptosis, and extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation. Non-coding RNAs, particularly circular RNAs (circRNAs), are increasingly recognized as key regulators of OA pathogenesis. This study reveals that circFN1 (hsa_circ_0058152) may act as a competing endogenous RNA, sponging miR-19b-3p and suppressing PTEN expression.
Trends in renal failure–related mortality among U.S. multiple myeloma patients aged ≥ 45 years, 1999–2023: analysis of CDC data - Scientific Reports

Although therapeutic advances have improved MM survival, renal failure remains a major contributor to adverse outcomes. This study examined long-term trends and demographic disparities in mortality among U.S. decedents with MM listed as the underlying cause of death and renal failure listed as a contributing cause.
TangShenWeiNing formula alleviates diabetic kidney disease by inhibiting ferroptosis via AMPK pathway in renal tubular epithelial cells
1 Introduction Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a common microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus, and is one of the major causes of end-stage renal disease (1, 2). Therefore, it is of great clinical and social significance to find effective measures to prevent DKD (3, 4). Recent increasing evidence has revealed that renal tubular injury occurs even in the early stages in DKD (5–8).
