Dietary index for gut microbiota and odds of gestational diabetes mellitus: associations with inflammatory and metabolic biomarkers
Abstract Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common metabolic disorder of pregnancy associated with adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. Emerging evidence suggests that dietary patterns supportive of gut microbial health and associated systemic inflammation may contribute to the pathophysiology of GDM.
Thermal Dissipation Enhances Plasma Ablation Resistance of C/C-HfC-SiC Composites Under a Heat Flux of 9.5 MW/m 2
1 Introduction Materials employed at critical regions of hypersonic vehicles [1, 2], such as nose cones and leading edges, are exposed to extreme aerothermal environments characterized by the severe coupling of high heat flux, elevated temperatures, and high-velocity oxidative gas flow. Under such conditions, the development of reliable materials with adequate thermal and chemical stability is essential.

Industrial Condensable Particulate Matter: A Missing Source in PM 2.5 Source Apportionment Driving Winter Pollution in China Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from industrial sources remains a major health concern. However, current emission controls and source apportionment models ignore condensable particulate matter (CPM). Here, we provide the first nationwide quantification of industrial CPM contributions to atmospheric PM2.5 in China through an integrated framework of field measurements, receptor modeling, and chemical transport simulations.
FT3 combined with the TyG index for risk stratification of mild cognitive impairment in euthyroid patients with type 2 diabetes
Abstract Introduction: Cognitive impairment is increasingly recognized as an important central nervous system complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Thyroid hormones (THs) and insulin resistance are both implicated in brain metabolism; however, the associations of free triiodothyronine (FT3) and the triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index with cognitive impairment in euthyroid patients with T2DM remain incompletely understood.

Peripheral blood HIF-1α levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus and their association with diabetic complications: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Hyperglycemia is known to exacerbate cellular hypoxia. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) is the functional subunit of the HIF-1 transcription factor and plays a central role in regulating cellular adaptive responses to low oxygen tension. HIF-1α orchestrates these adaptive responses by regulating downstream effectors such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which is essential for vascular integrity and metabolic homeostasis.

Antifibrotic mechanism of curcumin and its therapeutic potential in multi-organ diseases
Abstract Fibrosis is the outcome of chronic diseases and manifests as an abnormal repair process in which normal parenchyma is progressively replaced by deposited extracellular matrix. It leads to organ dysfunction and is associated with high morbidity, disability, and mortality, thereby becoming a major public health concern. Traditional Chinese medicine shows multi-target, multi-pathway strategies with favorable safety profiles.

Combustion and emission characteristics of ammonia/methane partially premixed flame under ultrasonic excitation
ABSTRACT Ammonia (NH3) is emerging as a promising alternative fuel due to its high energy density and non-carbon mature. However, its large-scale industrial application is limited by its low reactivity and high nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions during combustion. This paper investigated the effect of ultrasonic excitation on the combustion and emission characteristics of ammonia-methane-air partially premixed flame in a laboratory-scale burner.

CAB: Continuous adaptive blending for policy evaluation and learning
The ability to perform offline A/B-testing and off-policy learning using logged contextual bandit feedback is highly desirable in a broad range of applications, including recommender systems, search engines, ad placement, and personalized health care. Both offline A/B-testing and offpolicy learning require a counterfactual estimator that evaluates how some new policy would have performed, if it had been used instead of the logging policy.

Beyond top-k: knowledge reasoning for multi-answer temporal questions based on revalidation framework
A high-quality question answering (QA) model (Jia et al., 2018) is sensitive to constraints on semantic quantitative boundaries of input questions. Mainstream question answering approaches intentionally reduce the task to a “one best answer per question” scheme. But in practice, many temporal problems are open-ended and ambiguous, with multiple valid answers (or groups of answers), and often all of these answers must be captured so as to answer one question (Rubin et al., 2022). Combining Blood-Based Biomarkers and Structural MRI Measurements to Distinguish Persons With and Without Significant Amyloid Plaques
Abstract Background: Amyloid-β plaques play a pivotal role in Alzheimer's disease. The current positron emission tomography (PET) is expensive and limited in availability. In contrast, blood-based biomarkers (BBBMs) show potential for characterizing Aβ plaques more affordably. We have previously proposed an MRI-based hippocampal morphometry measure to be an indicator of Aβ-plaques.
