Development and application of a sensitive method for urinary biomonitoring of microcystin-LR: association with semen quality in adult men
Abstract Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a cyanobacterial toxin that can impair male reproductive function. However, epidemiological investigations of human MC-LR exposure have been limited due to the lack of sensitive and reliable biomonitoring methods. This study aimed to develop and validate a sensitive method for urinary biomonitoring of MC-LR and to investigate the association between urinary MC-LR exposure and semen quality in adult men.
Irx3 ameliorates post myocardial infarction cardiac dysfunction by regulating both inflammatory and fibrotic pathways
Abstract The Iroquois homeobox transcription factor Irx3 has been implicated in metabolic and hematological disorders, but its role in cardiac repair after myocardial infarction (MI) remains unclear. In this study, Irx3 expression was significantly reduced in C57BL/6 J mouse hearts after MI. Irx3 was predominantly expressed in cardiac fibroblasts, followed by cardiomyocytes. Fibroblast-specific overexpression of Irx3 reduced infarct size and fibrosis, thereby improving cardiac function.
Progress on Artificial Muscles: Material Designs, Structural Engineering, and Actuation Strategies for Advanced Applications

Mechanistic interplay between extracellular vesicles and neutrophil extracellular traps: unveiling the “sterile inflammation” cascade in obesity-induced diabetes progression
Abstract Obesity-driven type 2 diabetes mellitus is sustained by chronic low-grade sterile inflammation. The intercellular mechanisms underlying this self-amplifying state remain incompletely defined. Extracellular vesicles and neutrophil extracellular traps have each been independently implicated in metabolic inflammation. Whether they form a coordinated pathological axis in the obesity/type 2 diabetes microenvironment has not been systematically synthesized.

Vector Copula Variational Inference and Dependent Block Posterior Approximations
Abstract Variational inference (VI) is a popular method to estimate statistical models. The key to VI is the selection of a tractable density to approximate the Bayesian posterior. For large and complex models, a common choice is to assume independence between multivariate blocks in a partition of the parameter space. While this simplifies the problem, it can reduce accuracy. This paper proposes using vector copulas to capture dependence between the blocks parsimoniously.
