Large language models for digital mental health: an HCI-centered scoping review
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) are rapidly reshaping digital mental health, yet how these systems are designed, used, and evaluated remains poorly characterized. We conducted an HCI-centered scoping review of 84 studies examining mental health tasks, stakeholders, interaction paradigms, foundation models, evaluation methods, and outcome measurement.

Enhanced antitumor immunity of mRNA vaccines by bioorthogonal-like delayed activation of exogeneous STING
Abstract The development of cGAS–STING (stimulator of interferon genes) agonists as mRNA vaccine adjuvants has been hampered by widespread STING expression and by the observation that codelivered STING agonists suppress antigen mRNA translation. Here, to address these challenges, we engineer synchronized STING (Syn-STING): a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) codelivering antigen mRNA, mRNA encoding full-length STING transmembrane protein and a bioorthogonal-like delayed-release STING activator, DMXAA.
Deprotonation-mediated vitrification of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites
Abstract Glasses made from organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites are emerging non-crystalline semiconducting materials whose versatile composition and exceptional processability allow for manifold applications. The current melt-quenching approaches are compatible to only few perovskite crystals, as most undergo irreversible decomposition prior to melting.
Multimodal artificial intelligence agents in healthcare: a scoping review

ATRA improves megakaryopoiesis in immune thrombocytopenia through up-regulating the HIF-1α/SPHK2/S1P pathway
|
Abstract Our previous clinical studies show that all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) induces a sustained response in patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). However, its mechanisms of action remain unclear. In this study, we observed disorganized cytoskeleton and impaired proplatelet formation (PPF) in megakaryocytes from patients with ITP. Metabolite profiling revealed reduced sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) levels in ITP.

Abstract Physical activity plays an important role in preventing chronic diseases, but most studies rely on self-reported or short-term data that fail to capture habitual behavior. This study utilizes Fitbit data to investigate the relationship between physical activity and various chronic diseases. We analyzed data from 22,019 participants in the All of Us Research Program who shared at least six months of Fitbit activity data linked with electronic health records.
Mechanistic Insights into Photocatalytic Conversion of Biomass‐Derived Platform Molecules
Photocatalytic conversion of biomass-derived platform molecules provides a promising route to store intermittent solar energy as clean chemical energy, enabling the sustainable production of high-value chemicals from abundant, low-cost biomass. Front Cover: Integrating Electrochemical Electrodes Into Mass Spectrometry Ionization Sources for Detection of Transient Intermediates
Graphical Abstract The Front Cover showcases a “two-in-one” configuration for electrochemistry–mass spectrometry designed to detect transient intermediates with lifetimes ranging from seconds to milliseconds, microseconds, nanoseconds, and even picoseconds. The integration strategies for combining the electrode and ion source are explored, focusing on leveraging inherent electrochemical properties, incorporating two- or three-electrode systems, and utilizing bipolar electrodes.
Integrating Electrochemical Electrodes into Mass Spectrometry Ionization Sources for Detection of Transient Intermediates
Identifying short-lived transient intermediates is challenging due to their brief lifetimes (as short as nanoseconds, and even picoseconds) and therefore low concentrations in many chemical processes. Conducting electrochemical reactions within mass spectrometry ion sources (i.e., insource or in situ EC-MS) offers the advantage of minimizing the distance between the electrodes and the mass spectrometer, thereby improving the detection of transient intermediates.

Essential role of Dhx16-mediated ribosome assembly in maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells - Leukemia
Abstract Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are vital for the differentiation of all mature blood cells, with their homeostasis being tightly regulated by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Alternative splicing, mediated by the spliceosome complex, plays a crucial role in regulating HSC homeostasis by increasing protein diversity. This study focuses on the ATP-dependent RNA helicase DHX16, a key spliceosome component, and its role in HSC regulation.

Cadmium exposure induces changes in gut microbial composition and metabolic function in long‐tailed dwarf hamsters, Cricetulus longicaudatus

Effects of dietary nutrients of the gut microbiota in the long‐tailed dwarf hamster (Cricetulus longicaudatus)
1 INTRODUCTION Mammalian gut microbes colonize the body from birth and gradually form a relatively stable microbial community and a close symbiotic relationship with the host when it matures (Bäckhed et al., 2004; Hooper et al., 2002). These millions of microorganisms not only impact nutrient digestion and absorption but also regulate diverse biological processes encompassing host metabolic functions and environmental adaptability (Liu et al., 2021; Round & Mazmanian, 2009).
Reactivating Hippo by Drug Compounds to Suppress Gastric Cancer and Enhance Chemotherapy Sensitivity
Abstract The Hippo signaling pathway plays an essential role in organ size control and tumorigenesis. Loss of Hippo signal and hyper-activation of the downstream oncogenic YAP signaling are commonly observed in various types of cancers. We previously identified STRN3-containing PP2A phosphatase as a negative regulator of MST1/2 kinases (i.e. Hippo) in gastric cancer (GC), opening the possibility of selectively targeting the PP2Aa-STRN3-MST1/2 axis to recover Hippo signaling against cancer.
