Fecal microbiota transplantation for the decolonization of mucosal adherent-invasive Escherichia coli in Crohn’s disease: an open-label pilot study
Abstract Adherent-invasive Escherichia coli (AIEC) is implicated in Crohn’s disease (CD) pathogenesis, but whether fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) clears mucosal AIEC and alters fecal and mucosal microbiomes has not been studied. In this open-label pilot study, thirty adults with CD and seropositivity for serum anti-E.coli antibody (AEcAb) received a single colonoscopic FMT from one of two donors (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT05611866).

Heavy Metal Mixture Exposure and Insulin Resistance in U.S. Adults: The Mediating Role of Systemic Inflammation
1 Introduction Insulin resistance (IR) is a central feature of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease, and affects nearly half of U.S. adults [1]. While genetic predisposition, obesity, and sedentary lifestyle are well-established risk factors, environmental exposures have emerged as important contributors to IR through pathways that are not yet fully understood [2]. Heavy metals are ubiquitous environmental contaminants with established toxicity to metabolic tissues.
Review System Design and Sales: How Interface Visibility Moderates the Effect of Platform-Generated Default Reviews
Platform-generated default reviews are widespread in e-commerce, yet they are underexamined as a review system design feature. Using 1994 Taobao product snapshots from two windows (January–April 2025, n = 983; December 2025–January 2026, n = 1011) surrounding a gradual interface redesign that folded default reviews from the default view, this study examines how the default review ratio relates to sales and whether reduced visibility moderates the association.

Association between composite dietary antioxidant index and pulmonary function in middle-aged and older adults: results from two population-based studies
Oxidative stress is a critical driver of age-related pulmonary decline and respiratory diseases, yet most research has focused on the effects of individual antioxidants rather than the synergistic impact of overall dietary antioxidant capacity.

High-Efficiency and Stability Phenothiazine-Based D–(A′–π–A) 2 Sensitized Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Under Visible Light
1 Introduction The rapid depletion of fossil fuels, together with escalating environmental concerns, has intensified the global search for clean and sustainable energy sources. Hydrogen has emerged as an attractive energy carrier due to its high energy density and carbon-free combustion products.
Risk-adapted use of thoracic radiotherapy in stage IV non-small cell lung cancer: a multicenter prognostic model study
Abstract Background: Survival benefit of thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) in patients with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving first-line chemo-immunotherapy remains uncertain. This study developed and validated an overall survival (OS) prediction model and assessed whether TRT benefit varied across risk strata. Methods: Patients with stage IV NSCLC treated with first-line chemo-immunotherapy were enrolled.
Minimalist optical system for achromatic imaging within extended field of view based on monolithic integrated meta-axicon cluster
Abstract Achromatic metalenses face stringent aperture and numerical aperture (NA) constraints, which have become a key bottleneck in metasurface imaging. To this end, a novel achromatic imaging method was first proposed, utilizing the unique wideband consistency of diffracted Bessel spots combined with non-blind image restoration techniques.

A Hybrid Qualitative–Quantitative FMEA Model for Risk Management in Clinical Laboratory Automation: A Case Study Integrating ISO 15189:2022
1 Introduction With the continuous evolution of medical diagnostic models, medical laboratories have assumed an increasingly prominent role in disease screening, therapeutic monitoring and public health management [1-4]. The growing demand for testing has imposed higher requirements on analytical efficiency and quality. In this context, total laboratory automation (TLA) systems have been widely adopted as key instruments to enhance testing capacity and ensure data accuracy [5-7].
Design, Synthesis, and Preliminarily Biological Evaluations of Derivatives of the PARP‐1 Inhibitor AZD2461 With Mitochondria‐Protecting Activities
1 Introduction Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) are a family of DNA-dependent enzymes consisting of 17 members. PARP-1 is the first and most extensively studied member, accounting for 85%–90% of the total function of all PARPs. PARP-1 plays an important role in DNA repair and the maintenance of genome integrity.
Gut microbiome composition and function reflect socioeconomic deprivation - npj Biofilms and Microbiomes
Abstract Socioeconomic status (SES) correlates with adverse health outcomes, but the underlying biological mechanisms remain unclear. We examined how area-level deprivation (Townsend Deprivation Index) influences gut microbiome composition and function and whether the gut microbiome mediates the effects of deprivation on metabolic and mental health. A total of 1390 females from TwinsUK with shotgun metagenomes were included in this study.

cfGWAS reveal genetic basis of cell-free DNA end motifs - Nature Communications
Abstract Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) consists of degraded DNA fragments released into body fluids. Its genetic and pathological information makes it useful for prenatal testing and early tumor detection. However, the mechanisms behind cfDNA biology are largely unknown. In this study, for the first time, we conduct a genome-wide association study (GWAS) to explore the genetic basis of cfDNA end motif frequencies, termed cfGWAS, in 28,016 pregnant women.

Unveiling the Roles of Aromaticity on Optoelectronic and Charge-Transport Properties of Dehydrobenzo[n]annulenes
Unveiling the Roles of Aromaticity on Optoelectronic and Charge-Transport Properties of Dehydrobenzo[n]annulenes Dehydrobenzo[n]annulenes ([n]DBA) are a family of π-conjugated shape-persistent macrocycles, whose properties are governed by both their arylene groups and alkynylene linkages. While diverse members of [n]DBAs have been extensively studied, the triacetylene-bridged [24]DBA, a missing member, remained elusive.
BCAS2 promotes primitive hematopoiesis by sequestering β-catenin within the nucleus
