GaitIntent: A Kinematic Dataset Focusing on Steady-State to Transitional Locomotion for Lower-Limb Motion Rehabilitation
Abstract Motion intent recognition (MIR), the real-time interpretation of user movement, is crucial for advanced motion rehabilitation. MIR enables responsive control of prostheses and exoskeletons, enhancing mobility for lower-limb impaired individuals. Most existing datasets prioritize steady-state locomotion, often overlooking complex transitional movements critical in daily activities, which limits anticipatory control development. We introduce GaitIntent, a novel kinematic dataset.
Serum SPP1 levels are associated with disease severity and 1-year mortality in primary Sjögren’s syndrome-associated interstitial lung disease
Abstract Clinical significance of serum secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1) in primary Sjögren’s syndrome-associated interstitial lung disease (pSS-ILD) remains unclear. In this study, we analyzed the GSE47460 lung tissue expression profile to validate SPP1 upregulation in ILD and performed GSEA to explore the potential mechanisms.
Bacillus velezensis 802 with antagonistic activity against Aspergillus flavus : genome characterization, secondary metabolites and antifungal mechanism
Abstract Background: Aspergillus flavus causes severs postharvest spoilage and aflatoxins contamination of agricultural commodities, posing major threats to food safety and human health and underscoring the need for safe, effective biocontrol strategies. This study aimed to identify an antagonistic endophytic bacterium against A. flavus and to integrate whole-genome mining, metabolomics, and mechanistic assays to elucidate the molecular basis of its antifungal activity.
Microdosimetric characterization of proton relative biological effectiveness in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cell lines
Abstract Purpose: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is among the most radioresistant malignancies. Proton therapy assumes a uniform relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of 1.1 regardless of radiation quality. We characterized proton RBE as a function of dose-mean lineal energy (ȳD) in PDAC cell lines. Methods: Proton RBE was assessed in Panc-1 and COLO 357 FG cells using a high-throughput 96-well irradiation platform with an 81.4 MeV spot-scanning proton beam.

GRHL2 contributes to the maintenance of intestinal epithelial barrier integrity during LPS-induced injury
Abstract Introduction: Sepsis-induced intestinal epithelial barrier dysfunction contributes to gastrointestinal injury during critical illness, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying barrier disruption remain incompletely understood. This study investigated the potential involvement of Grainyhead-like 2 (GRHL2) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced intestinal epithelial barrier injury.
Top-down influence of the inferior frontal gyrus on motor cortex excitability during pain empathy
Abstract Empathy for pain can reduce activity in the observer’s motor system, but the neural processes that shape this response remain unclear. Here we show that observing another person in pain reduces corticospinal excitability and increases perceived pain intensity when viewed from a first-person perspective, but not from a third-person perspective. This motor suppression is absent when noxious events are applied to a non-biological object.
The RPS15-DDX21 complex drives prostate malignancy through transcriptional activation of SCD1
Abstract Development of castration resistance and distant metastasis remain two major clinical challenges in prostate cancer (PCa) treatment. By analyzing multiple public cancer datasets, we found that ribosomal protein S15 (RPS15) is overexpressed in PCa and related to its metastasis. Beyond its canonical role as a structural component of the ribosome, emerging evidence has highlighted the extraribosomal functions of RPS15 in disease progression.

Aging-associated decline of phosphatidylcholine synthesis is a malleable trigger of natural mitochondrial aging
Abstract Mitochondrial dysfunction is a prominent hallmark of aging contributing to the decline of metabolic plasticity in late life. While genetic distortions of mitochondrial integrity elicit premature aging, the mechanisms leading to “natural” aging of mitochondria are less clear.

Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! C–H bond activation of arenes is a significant transformation in chemical manufacturing but remains a challenge, especially for arenes containing only C–C and C–H bonds. Borylation of C–H bonds results in new C–B bonds that may be further functionalized via cross-coupling reactions. (1) Molecular late transition metal complexes based on Ir, Rh, or Co have been shown to borylate arenes with high activity and selectivity.

Colonic Barrier Dysfunction and Inflammation Induced by Nano-/Micro-Plastics Fibers in Mice via the FAK/NF-κB/iNOS and TLR4/NF-κB/iNOS Pathways
1 Introduction As emerging environmental contaminants, nano- and micro-plastics (NMPs) have drawn growing concern due to their ubiquitous distribution, persistence, and potential harmful effects on ecosystems and human health (Jung et al. 2022; Ramsperger et al. 2023). The term “microplastics” refers to plastic particles in the environment measuring between 1 μm and 5 mm, whereas “nanoplastics” are generally defined as having a size range from 1 to 100 nm (Anand et al. 2023; Ebrahimi et al. 2022).

Artificial intelligence for low-carbon energy and information networks
Abstract Achieving low-carbon energy and information networks requires coordination between variable renewable energy supply and fluctuating traffic demand. Artificial intelligence (AI) systems offer tools both to optimize networks and to coordinate between them. Yet AI systems generate substantial carbon emissions — from model training, deployment and use, and the hardware life cycle — creating a paradox in which the solution contributes to the problem.

Brain-computer interface technology for motor rehabilitation in severe stroke: a narrative review
Abstract This review examines the application of brain–computer interface (BCI) technology for motor rehabilitation in patients with severe stroke—a population often excluded from conventional therapies due to minimal movement. BCIs establish electronic links between the brain and external devices, enabling motor intention recognition without muscular activity. By pairing neural activation with sensory feedback, these systems promote neuroplasticity and strengthen adaptive motor pathways.

Revisiting the factors affecting child trafficking: an empirical study based on the origin areas - Humanities and Social Sciences Communications
Abstract In China, child trafficking remains a critical public safety issue that undermines family harmony and social stability. However, the various factors contributing to child trafficking at the origin have not been thoroughly investigated due to data scarcity. To address this gap, this study utilized a database from a public welfare website dedicated to missing persons to collect 9016 child trafficking cases recorded between 1949 and 2022 in Southwest China.

WBP11 inhibits UFL1-mediated UFMylation of NONO to drive hepatocellular carcinoma progression - Oncogene
Abstract Identification of novel targets is critical for the effective management of HCC. UFMylation, a novel ubiquitin-like modification, plays an important role in various biological processes and disease progression. We found that WW domain binding protein 11 (WBP11) is enriched and predicts poor prognosis in HCC. Depletion of WBP11 inhibits the malignancy of HCC cells in vitro and in vivo.

Epidemiological data indicate that the prevalence of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is greater among females than among males and increases with advancing age (2).
Large field-of-view volumetric deep brain imaging through gradient-index lenses - Nature Communications
Abstract The rapid advance of genetically encoded fluorescent functional indicators has transformed neuroscience research. Fluorescence-based optical neural recording offers excellent sensitivity and spatiotemporal resolutions. A major limitation of optical measurement is the superficial access depth due to the random light scattering in the mammalian brain. Currently, implanting miniature gradient-index (GRIN) lenses has become the preferred method for deep brain optical imaging.
