This comic isn’t essential to understanding all the craziness of all the current titles sharing the same banner as Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s Absolute Carnage.
Marvel is relaunching their Guardians of the Galaxy title this January with Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk, Jane Foster: Valkyrie), Juann Cabal (All-New Wolverine, Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man), and Dean White (Black Science, Thor: God of Thunder). This announcement comes straight from Marvel’s Next Big Thing panel at New York Comic Con. If this news sounds familiar to you, don’t fret. You’re not going crazy.
What’s better than a sass-talking space raccoon? Said raccoon in a dapper suit. And what’s better than that? Al Ewing writing and Juann Cabal illustrating him. So good news, everyone, because Ewing and Cabal will be the new creative team behind Guardians of the Galaxy come this January. Ewing’s The Immortal Hulk is consistently one of my favorite Marvel titles, and Cabal’s been doing great work with Tom Taylor on Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, so I’m down for this.
