Comparative associations of six predefined dietary patterns with site-specific cancer risk in the UK Biobank
Abstract Background: Previous studies on diet and cancer have mainly examined individual dietary indices in relation to specific cancer outcomes, limiting direct comparison across dietary patterns. A unified population with consistent adjustment and standardized dietary-index scales is needed to explore whether different dietary patterns show different statistical associations with each specific cancer outcome.

CLEC4G deficiency aggravates cholestatic liver fibrosis through impaired angiocrine signaling
Abstract CLEC4G is a C-type lectin receptor predominantly expressed in liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), with its expression markedly downregulated in cirrhotic livers. However, its specific role in cholestatic liver injury and fibrosis remains largely unexplored. Here we show that CLEC4G expression is reduced in cholestatic livers from children with biliary atresia (BA) and in bile duct ligation (BDL) -treated mice.

Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Direct hydrogenation of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) to acetic acid, a key commodity chemical, offers a sustainable route to valorize greenhouse gases but is plagued by CO2 inertness, thermodynamic barriers, and poor selectivity for C-C coupling over competing overhydrogenation.
Intelligent fault diagnosis and classification of induction motors based on Relax-1DCNN and Relax-RF
Abstract Induction motors (IMs) are prone to diverse faults during operation, and untimely detection can lead to catastrophic failures. To address this issue, this study develops a dual-module intelligent fault diagnosis system integrating the RELAX algorithm with 1D convolutional neural network (1DCNN) and random forest (RF). The RELAX algorithm first suppresses fundamental frequency interference to highlight intrinsic fault features.
Longitudinal Relation Between Childhood Maltreatment and Problematic Gaming in Early Adolescents: The Mediating Roles of Self-Control and Sex Differences
Abstract Childhood maltreatment has been linked to heightened risk for problematic gaming among adolescents, yet the self-regulatory processes underlying this association remain insufficiently understood. Drawing on the dual-mode model of self-control, the present three-wave longitudinal study examined whether the impulsive and effortful modes of self-control mediated the association between childhood maltreatment and problematic gaming, and whether these pathways differed by sex.

HELZ is a RNA-DNA helicase that resolves R loops to facilitate homologous recombination repair
|
Abstract R loop homeostasis is critical for DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair; however, how R loops are resolved in this context is poorly understood. Here, we define HELZ as a unique RNA-DNA helicase that resolves R loops to facilitate homologous recombination (HR) repair.

HELZ-BRCA2 complex resolves R-loops to drive transcription-coupled homologous recombination
|
Abstract R-loops are transcription-induced, three-stranded nucleic acid structures that, if not properly resolved, can disrupt DNA repair and compromise genome stability. BRCA2, a tumor suppressor vital for homologous recombination (HR), also contributes to R-loop regulation, though the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we identify HELZ as a direct BRCA2 interactor and characterize it as an ssRNA-specific R-loop resolvase.

Oxidative stability as a guiding principle for durable ionomer cations in pure-water electrolysis
Abstract Cation degradation in ionomers critically limits the durability of pure-water-fed anion exchange membrane water electrolysis, particularly at the anode where high overpotentials and near-neutral pH induce harsh oxidative stress. However, prevailing cation design remains rooted in alkali-stability frameworks, which fall short under these oxidative conditions.
Mud volcanism and episodic outflow events explain pitted cones in Chryse and Acidalia Planitia, Mars

Programmable Three-dimensional Photonic Neural Network Chip
Abstract Photonic neural network chips promise compact footprint, low latency, and high energy efficiency. Yet, their scale and computing throughput are fundamentally constrained by one-dimensional input interfaces, unavoidable waveguide crossings, and the resulting crosstalk and excess loss. As a result, two-dimensional (2D) image data must be serialized through limited input ports, sacrificing spatial parallelism and creating input/output (I/O) bottlenecks.

Activating plasmonic catalysis through light-mediated steady-state spin modulation - Nature Communications
Abstract Light-mediated electronic spin modulation possesses intriguing potentials for photochemistry, enabling on-demand customization of catalysts towards distinct reactions and catalytic requirements. However, the significant photobleaching of the transient spin transitions as well as their temporal mismatch with slower chemical reaction dynamics substantially hinders its applicability.
B cell-mediated immune reconstitution after lung transplantation: mechanisms, interventions, and prognostic evaluation
Abstract Lung transplantation remains a life-saving option for patients with end-stage lung disease, yet long-term outcomes remain limited by chronic rejection and infection. Although T cells have historically been the focus of transplant immunology, B cells are now recognized as critical regulators of immune responses through the production of antibodies, antigen presentation, and cytokine secretion.
Regulating Pb off-centering distortion for white-light emission in 2D halide perovskites - Nature Communications
Abstract Efficient tuning of structural distortion is an attractive approach for regulating self-trapped excitons emission properties of two-dimensional halide perovskites. Nevertheless, it remains elusive as to how the structural distortion is related with such emission. Here, we elucidate the relationship between structural distortion and the emission behavior of self-trapped excitons in two-dimensional lead bromide perovskites (R-NH3)2PbBr4 (where R is the cyclic carbon group).

An Orthogonal Nucleic Acid/Peptide Amplification Circuit Enables Protease‐Triggered, Cancer Cell‐Selective PD‐L1 Imaging
Introduction Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), expressed on the surface of cancer cells, is a critical immune checkpoint protein that engages programmed death-1 (PD-1) on tumor-infiltrating T cells to facilitate immune evasion of tumors.[1] Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies, such as anti-PD-L1 antibodies, have transformed cancer treatment.
