Synchronizing Lewis-Acid C─O Bond Activation and Ethanol-Derived Hydrogen Transfer Over RuO 2 /ZnO Carbon Aerogels for Technical Lignin Depolymerization
1 Introduction Lignin is the largest renewable source of aromatic frameworks in lignocellulosic biomass, accounting for approximately 10–35 wt% of woody biomass [1-4]. Its selective conversion into low molecular weight aromatics offers a sustainable route to reducing dependence on fossil derived aromatic chemicals [5-7].
R^3-Bench: LLMs Struggle with Resource-Rational Reasoning under Shared Budgets
R³-Bench reveals that shared computation budgets cause reasoning agents to underperform relative to their single-problem capabilities across math, coding, and abstract reasoning tasks. In cognitive science, resource rationality asks how an agent should allocate limited computation to maximize expected value.
hnRNPK condensates facilitate enhancer–promoter looping and RNA polymerase II recruitment
Abstract Enhancer RNAs interact with promoter-derived RNAs to dictate enhancer–promoter looping, but the RNA-binding protein that mediates this process has remained unidentified. Here we identify hnRNPK as a general structural regulator that preferentially binds to nascent RNAs transcribed from enhancer and promoter regions, promoting enhancer–promoter looping and transcriptional activation.

Statistical Analysis of the Location Characteristics of the East Asian Trough Under the Remote Influence of Tropical Cyclones
1 Introduction Tropical cyclones (TCs) are among the most intense weather systems in the tropical atmosphere. The formation, development, and movement of a TC are accompanied by intense dynamic processes and a significant release of latent heat. As a result, TCs greatly affect the weather and climate systems in tropical regions (Emanuel 1986, 2018; Gray 1998). However, the impact of TCs is not limited to tropical regions.

Sulfur-passivated Pt cluster edges on CeO 2 for selective CO 2 -to-CO conversion
Abstract The catalytic conversion of CO2 into value-added chemicals via the reverse water-gas shift (RWGS) reaction represents a significant pathway for mitigating climate change and enabling sustainable carbon utilization. However, Pt-based catalysts, despite their superior H2 activation ability, often suffer from inadequate CO selectivity and durability under high-temperature conditions, primarily due to excessive CO adsorption at low-coordinated Pt edge sites.

FILM: mapping organellar metabolism by mid-infrared photothermal-modulated fluorescence
Abstract Metabolism unfolds within specific organelles in eukaryotic cells. Lysosomes are highly metabolically active organelles, and their metabolic states dynamically influence signal transduction, cellular homeostasis and organismal physiopathology. Despite the importance of lysosomal metabolism, a method for its in vivo measurement is currently lacking.
Amide-engineered copper nitride for shortcut-pathway-locked electroreduction of concentrated hydroxymethylfurfural
Abstract Achieving high selectivity in the electrocatalytic hydrogenation (ECH) of concentrated 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5-dihydroxymethylfuran (DHMF) remains a challenge due to competitive adsorption at high HMF concentrations, which limits active-site availability and suppresses *H generation. Regulating the balance between *H generation and HMF adsorption is therefore essential for maintaining selectivity under practical conditions.
Boosting foundation models for rare eye disease diagnosis via a multimodal text-to-image generative framework
Abstract The rising prevalence of vision-threatening retinal diseases poses a significant burden on the global healthcare systems. Though deep learning (DL) techniques offer promising avenues for improving diagnostic efficiency, data scarcity and imbalance issues persist in training robust diagnostic models, particularly for rare eye diseases. Here, we introduce EyeDiff, a generative foundation model capable of synthesizing lesion-preserving ophthalmic images from textual descriptions.

DTX1-mediated degradation of TUBB3 in Kupffer cells mitigates hepatocellular carcinoma progression by regulating M1/M2 polarization - Communications Biology
Abstract A high infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is associated with a negative prognosis for patients. Kupffer cells (KCs) constitute a stationary tissue-resident macrophage subset of the liver, playing a pivotal role in maintaining homeostasis. The increased expression of tubulin beta-3 chain (TUBB3) is associated with the aggressiveness of various epithelial tumors.

The RNA m6A Methyltransferase PvFIP37 Activates Vacuole Transport and Glutathione Detoxification Pathways to Increase Switchgrass Cd Tolerance
1 Introduction Cadmium (Cd) is one of the most toxic heavy metals in the environment, which when excessively accumulated in soil not only impairs plant photosynthesis and transpiration but also promotes reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, thereby damaging plant cellular structures (Küpper et al. 2007; Sharma and Dietz 2009). This poses a significant threat to agricultural sustainability, food security and human health (Liu et al. 2009).

Why The Strongest Products Win By Becoming Invisible
Every day, we default to familiar choices without thinking: We grab the same water bottle from the shelf, and we order from the same food delivery app, not out of loyalty but habit. Most choices aren't consciously made-they're simply what we used last time or what feels like the obvious choice. It's not always the best choice, it's just the "default option." The power of being the default option doesn't come from being forced on people. It comes from being the first choice that feels natural.

Edge phase retrieval for dispersion measurements with wavelet decomposition and reconstruction
We propose a new method, to our knowledge, to retrieve phase in spectrally resolved interferometry for dispersion measurements using the discrete wavelet transform. The original interferogram is decomposed and reconstructed for signal denoising by adopting the Daubechies-4 (db4) wavelet. This process enhances the clarity of edge fringes in the reconstructed interferogram, enabling accurate retrieval of the edge phase.
