JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WAVE) - After a six-month investigation, a grand jury in Jennings County, Indiana, has returned an indictment against the county sheriff. William K. “Kenny” Freeman, Jr., 60, of North Vernon, Indiana, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft, along with single felony counts of official misconduct, obstruction of justice and perjury. The indictment was returned after an investigation that began in November 2025 in connection with stolen campaign signs.

Man wounded in possible road rage incident

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man is recovering after being shot Derby morning in a possible road rage incident. The shooting was reported to Louisville Metro police around 11:25 a.m. in the 9800 block of Blue Lick Road. The injured man was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover from his injuries. The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation. They ask anyone with information to call the Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).

Bomb threat forces evacuation of Louisville Zoo Original

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The all clear has been given after a bomb threat caused an evacuation of the Louisville Zoo. According to Kyle Shepherd, a Zoo spokesperson, the threat was called in to LMPD around 9 a.m. Shepherd said at the time, there were 173 members of a walking club in the Zoo along with approximately 60 employees. Those inside the zoo were evacuated to Joe Creason Park. With the all clear given, Shepherd said the Zoo will open at 11 a.m., one hour later than normal.
