Targeting FOSL1-KCa3.1 inhibits ferroptosis and cartilage destruction by suppressing mitochondrial hyperfusion
Abstract Dysregulated chondrocyte death contributes substantially to cartilage destruction in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), yet the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify the calcium-activated potassium channel KCa3.1 as a critical mediator of chondrocyte ferroptosis and cartilage destruction in RA.
Targeting carbonic anhydrase IX-mediated ferroptosis by atractylenolide I alleviates DSS-induced colitis in mice
Abstract Background: While the involvement of ferroptosis in the pathological progression of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is recognized, the specific regulatory capacity of the natural derivative Atractylenolide I (ATT-I) within this metabolic framework is not yet fully elucidated. Objective: To investigate how ATT-I alleviates IBD by modulating ferroptosis via targeting carbonic anhydrase IX (CA9).
Integrated two-photon and photoacoustic microscopy for single-cell neurometabolic imaging
Abstract Understanding how neuronal activity couples with local energy metabolism is fundamental to brain function. Oxygen exchange between individual neurons and red blood cells (RBCs) is central to this process, yet no existing method can simultaneously capture their dynamics at single-cell resolution in vivo.
Synergistic Control of Radiative Decay and Exciton Splitting Dynamics for Efficient Organic Solar Cells Processed by Non-Halogenated Solvent
1 Introduction Recent years have witnessed remarkable progress in organic solar cells (OSCs), with their power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) approaching 21% through innovative materials design and device engineering [1-7]. However, the state-of-the-art OSCs still rely predominantly on the highly toxic and environmentally persistent halogenated solvents, such as chloroform (CF) and chlorobenzene (CB), which limits their scalable production.

Topological Data Analysis Driven fNIRS Signal Processing for Alzheimer’s Disease Stage Identification
You are already at the latest version This paper proposes a novel Topological Data Analysis (TDA) pipeline to extract robust structural features from functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) signals for the classification of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) stages. Alzheimer's disease is increasingly understood as a disconnection syndrome, where the disruption of functional brain net-works precedes gross anatomical atrophy.
Overcoming the sensitivity–speed trade-off in two-dimensional photodetectors via a functional oxide interlayer
Abstract Photodetectors that can achieve both high sensitivity and fast speed remain a challenge due to inherent trade-offs, particularly limiting in photonic integrated circuits. While substantial progress has been made in broadening spectral response, few strategies have directly addressed the simultaneous enhancement of sensitivity and speed.
Species Richness Mitigates but Does Not Eliminate Functional Vulnerability in Natural Forests
1 Introduction With further climate change being inevitable (Lee et al. 2023), the accelerating loss of biodiversity and degradation of ecosystem functions has become a pressing global concern (Malhi et al. 2020). Declines in species richness and increasing biotic homogenization pose serious and potentially irreversible threats to the integrity of ecosystem functioning (Forest et al. 2017; Johnson et al. 2017).
Targeting NK cell CLEC12B enhances cancer immunotherapy
Abstract Natural killer (NK) cells are innate immune effectors, but their cytotoxic potential can be compromised within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Identifying molecular mechanisms that underly this dysfunction is essential for advances in cancer immunotherapy. Here we show that CLEC12B, a C-type lectin receptor, functions as an inhibitory checkpoint that restricts NK cell-mediated antitumor immunity.
Super-resolution functional photoacoustic microscopy via label-free cell tracking - Light: Science & Applications
Abstract Microvascular function and oxygen metabolism are central to tissue and organ health. However, label-free methods for imaging oxygen dynamics in three-dimensional (3D) microvascular networks at the level of single red blood cells (RBCs)—the fundamental units of oxygen transport in vivo—remain lacking. Here, we introduce super-resolution functional photoacoustic microscopy (SR-fPAM), which spatiotemporally tracks RBC movements under dual-wavelength excitation.

DNA gains and losses in gigantic genomes do not track differences in transposable element-host silencing interactions - Communications Biology
Abstract Size evolution among gigantic genomes involves gain and loss of many gigabases of transposable elements (TEs), sequences that parasitize host genomes. Vertebrates suppress TEs using piRNA and KRAB-ZFP pathways. TEs and hosts coevolve in an arms race, where suppression strength reflects TE fitness costs. In enormous genomes, additional TE costs become miniscule. How, then, do TEs and host suppression invoke further addition of massive DNA amounts?
