QUINCY (WGEM) - An annual event celebrating Tri-State LGBTQ communities is returning this weekend. It’s the 5th annual Pride in the Park happening over in Clat Adams. Organized by the Tri-State Diversity Coalition, organizers said it’s an afternoon of diversity, inclusion and acceptance. Tri-State Diversity Coalition President Chris Taylor said Pride in the Park will feature an array of live entertainment, vendors, and several local resources. “Visibility matters,” Taylor said.

Hancock County Board revises ordinance after residents feel unsafe around neighborhood dogs

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) - On Tuesday night, Hancock County board members revised a new ordinance pertaining to animal, livestock and human safety. It’s in response to a string of complaints from residents who said they felt unsafe around neighborhood dogs. Hancock County State’s Attorney Bobi James said prior to the 2008 animal safety ordinance’s update, it had only addressed animal abuse and property damage. Now, it will address concerns of a resident’s personal safety.
